61FSS.SLO@us.af.mil www.laafbforcesupport.com/family/slo Closed every 1st Thursday of the month for training.

Application deadline extended to May 1, 2018. This program recognizes children of DoD civilians, active duty, retired and veteran military personnel in grades K-12 for their outstanding scholastic achievements.

Do you have questions about enrolling your child in school? The Los Angeles Air Force Base School Liaison Officer (SLO) is here to help you find the answers you need. The average military family moves 9 to 12 times throughout K-12 education. With each move, military children face many school-related challenges. The School Liaison Officer is your advocate. California schools are responsible for California State learning standards. Each school’s academic performance Index (API) and climate survey can be found at http:// dq.cde.ca.gov/dataquest/

www.LAAFBForceSupport.com/Slo Submit applications to 61fss.slo@us.af.mil no later than May 1, 2018.

DID YOU KNOW?

Individuals taking care of someone else’s children in base quarters on a regular basis for more than 10 hours per week must be licensed. Residents of base housing who knowingly provide unlicensed child care are in danger of losing their base housing privileges. The care in FCC is provided in the home of individuals licensed under AFI 34-144 guidelines.

These licensed child care providers must complete (at a minimum) 24 hours of orientation, be certified in CPR/ First Aid, complete AF child care training modules, obtain liability insurance and have their home meet fire prevention, health and safety guidelines. Please contact the FCC office for further details.
