June 14-16, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The three day format covers a broad range of topics from financial planning to job search to a VA benefits briefing.

June 23-24, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. This is a great new workshop part of the Transition Assistance Program (TAP). It is a monthly workshop where Transitioning Service Members, Spouses, Retirees and Veterans can build a resume for a civilian or a federal job and learn interview techniques, salary negotiations and labor market information.

June 23, 12:30 p.m. - 4 p.m. Must pre-register. For pregnant military members or civilians and their spouses. AFAS provides a “bundle” of information to each active duty family and a special gift to AF, USN, USMC and USCG active members.

JUNE 12-13 | CATALINA ISLAND | AGE 16+ $60 Active Duty Air Force & Dependents • $145 All Others Join ODR for a multiday “solo” backpacking expedition from Two Harbors to Little Harbor on Catalina Island. This trip will be focused on teaching/ guiding participants in the skills and gear needed to facilitate their own solo adventures in the backcountry. We will depart for Catalina on Saturday morning and arrive at Two Harbors, f rom there we will be hiking overland through the beautiful Catalina backcountry (5.7 miles, moderately strenuous) to a beach campsite, spending a night beach camping under the stars hiking back Sunday morning and departing Catalina. All the necessary gear (backpack, stove, tent, etc.) will be provided by ODR.

JUNE 26 | SAN PEDRO | AGE 13+ $55 Active Duty Air Force & Dependents • $145 All Others Join ODR for a socially distant afternoon 1/2 day private boat charter on the Redondo Special out of Redondo Beach Sportfishing! Although there are many myths about VA home loans, a closer look will hopefully dispel any fears or reservations in accepting an offer with VA financing. MYTH: Seller Must Pay for Closing Cost FACT: When a buyer’s chosen lender is NOT charging an “origination fee” (virtually no lender does), the only seller’s cost is that they must pay for a “Termite Report” and it must be noted in the RPA Agreement.
