Fort MacArthur Inn is the lodging operation for Los Angeles AFB. It is located in the city of San Pedro, 20 miles south of LA AFB and offers 72 non-smoking units. Space-Available reservations can be made up to 120 days in advance, depending on the base occupancy and at the lodging managers’ discretion. Mondays, June 6 & 27 Tuesday, July 5 & Monday, July 18 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Are you separating or retiring from military service? Fulfill your Initial Counseling and Pre-separation briefing requirement at this mandatory briefing preferably 18 months before separating and 24 months prior to retiring, but mandated NLT 365 days before leaving the service.

LA AFB INTRO Program

Tuesday, June 7 | July 5 8 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Newcomers are briefed on some of the most important aspects that they will need for getting settled into Los Angeles AFB. Informational briefings from the A&FRC, Security Forces, the EFMP Coordinator and so many more will be provided. All spouses are welcome to attend. The link to the virtual WebEx platform will be provided in the LA Garrison base announcements email. Must have at least 10 minimum participants.

Transition Workshop

June 13-15 | July 11-13 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. | Bldg. 272, Room 201-202 The three day format covers a broad range of topics from financial planning to job search to a VA benefits briefing. Spouses are highly encouraged to attend. This workshop is mandatory for all separating members, highly recommended for retiring military members.

First Officer Duty Station

Thursday, July 14 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Learn budgetary basics, saving tips, and how to survive in this high cost area. This is a mandatory class for all O1 & O2 who are new to Los Angeles AFB. All military and civilians may attend.

10 Steps to a Federal Job

Tuesday, July 19 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. | Location: TBD Build a resume for federal employment using the “10 Steps to A Federal Job” method. We MUST have at least 4 people registered in order to have this class.

Managing Your Move

Thursday, June 16 | July 21 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Get good advice on planning your next PCS from the clinic, traffic management and finance.

DOL Employment Track (2 days)

June 21-22 | July 20-21 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. | Bldg. 272, Room 201-202 This new workshop is part of the Transition Program. It is a monthly workshop where Transitioning Service Members, Spouses, Retirees and Veterans can build a resume for a civilian or a federal job and learn interview techniques, salary negotiations and labor market information.

Fridays, 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Join us and enjoy learning new skills in the kitchen when cooking and eating with friends. Youth are encouraged to bring or send in recipes from their family favorites, or from cultural family traditions. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to share their culinary skills with the team.

STEAM Center of Innovation (Ages 5-18)

Join staff for directed and other cool STEM projects, or just stop by for some solo time on a computer, using 3D pens, building robots, flying drones, and much more. Color Play Studios, Redondo Beach ,CA The Community Center is hosting a private Iced Tie Dyeing class with Color Play Studios in Redondo Beach.

Friday, June 10 • 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.

In this workshop participants will learn how to create a Tie Dye T-Shirt using a bucket of ice as the dyeing medium in the colors you choose.

The Community Center is hosting a Paint Night in our Garden Room. Ages 16 & over are welcome to enjoy a night of creative painting fun!
