July 16-17, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. This is a great new workshop part of the Transition Assistance Program (TAP). It is a monthly workshop where Transitioning Service Members, Spouses, Retirees and Veterans can build a resume for a civilian or a federal job and learn interview techniques, salary negotiations and labor market information.

Youth Programs supports dependents of active duty military, retired military, active reservists, DoD personnel, and those living on base with a current contract with Tierra Vista. Youth Programs provides age appropriate activities, classes, trips, and events for youth ages 5-18 years. ONGOING PROGRAMS School Age Care 2019 (Ages 5-12) Before and After School Program provides ageappropriate childcare with quality programming, youth activities and events. Clubs, Activities, and USDA approved meals and snacks are offered. Transportation to and from select schools is available. The program focuses on team building, cognitive growth, and development of social awareness and problem-solving skills. The staff offers homework support to youth enrolled in the School Age Program. Registration is ongoing and based on availability. Visit www. militarychildcare.com to create an account.
Transportation Program (Ages 9-18) Youth Program members are eligible for transportation to and from select schools: Leland Elementary, Point Fermin Elementary, White Point Elementary, Dana Middle School and San Pedro HighSchool. Upon return, registered youth may enjoy our Open Recreation Program, or go directly home. $50 PER WEEK *Note: Participation in the transportation program does not automatically register youth for after school activities. Youth must be enrolled in Open Recreation and other programming separately.
Open Recreation Program (Ages 9-18) This program provides recreational options for all dependents of active duty, retired military, DoD employees, and contractors living on base under a Tierra Vista lease contract. Youth must have current membership and be between 9-18 years of age. Community service programs, clubs, and classes are offered with focus on recreational activities, cognitive challenges, and team building. $30.00 PER MEMBERSHIP YEAR- All memberships expire in September, regardless of when the membership was purchased.
Congressional Award Opportunities The Congressional Award is the United States Congress’ award for young Americans. It is non-partisan, voluntary, and non-competitive. The program is open to all 14 to 23-yearolds. Participants earn Bronze, Silver, & Gold Congressional Award Certificates & Bronze, Silver, & Gold Congressional Award Medals. Each level involves setting goals in four program areas: Volunteer Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness, and Expedition/Exploration.
