Prizes are given when you reach highlighted landmarks along the map. What is Student Assessments? Assessment techniques such as standardized test monitors student learning against-state imposed achievement bars. Annually NCLB requires school to publish their “School Report Card”. The School Report card shows students’ achievement over a period of time.

The Community Center is hosting a private party at Color Me Mine in Torrance. Participants will get to pick a single piece of pottery valued at up to $60. Transportation Program (Ages 9-18) School Age Care 2018 Summer Camp (Ages 5-12)
Before and After School Programs provide age-appropriate child care with quality programming, youth activities and events. Clubs, activities, and USDA approved meals and snacks are offered. Transportation to and from select schools is available. The program focuses on team building, cognitive growth, and development of social awareness and problem solving skills. The staff offers homework support to youth enrolled in the School Age Program.
Open Recreation Program (Ages 9-18)
This program provides recreational options for all dependents of active duty, retired military, DoD employees, and contractors living on base under a Tierra Vista lease contract. Youth must have current membership and be between 9-18 years of age. Community service programs, clubs, and classes are offered with focus on recreational activities, cognitive challenges, and team building. $30 per year 22
Youth Program members are eligible for transportation to and from select schools: Leland Elementary, Point Fermin Elementary, White Point Elementary, Dana Middle School, and Port of Los Angeles High School. Upon return, registered youth may enjoy our Open Recreation Program, or go directly home. $50 per week *Note: Participation in the transportation program does not automatically register youth for after school activities. Youth must be enrolled in Open Recreation and other programming separately.
Congressional Award Opportunities
The Congressional Award is the United States Congress’ award for young Americans. It is non-partisan, voluntary, and non-competitive. The program is open to all 14 to 23 year-olds. Participants earn Bronze, Silver, & Gold Congressional Award Certificates & Bronze, Silver, & Gold Congressional Award Medals. Each level involves setting goals in four program areas: Volunteer Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness, and Expedition/Exploration. FCC Providers Needed! Make extra income while caring for children in the comfort of your own home. Family Child Care (FCC) staff will train and help you provide responsible and safe in-home care for children 2 weeks to 13 years old in your government or affiliated off-base home. We’ll make sure you have the skills, promotion and resources you need.
Individuals taking care of someone else’s children in base quarters on a regular basis for more than 10 hours per week must be licensed. Residents of base housing who knowingly provide unlicensed child care are in danger of losing their base housing privileges. The care in FCC is provided in the home of individuals licensed under AFI 34-144 guidelines. These licensed child care providers must complete (at a minimum) 24 hours of orientation, be certified in CPR/First Aid, complete AF child care training modules, obtain liability insurance and have their home meet fire prevention, health and safety guidelines.
