This is a 6 week certification course for parents who have children that require an IEP. Parents will learn vital information, techniques, resources, advocacy, and strategies for improving the lives of autistic and developmentally disabled children. They will also learn how to identify other families in need and serve as mentors for those families. This is critical in the transient military community, where families often lack traditional support systems such as close-knit family, long-term friendships, and religious institutions. The practice and employment of these techniques is governed by the Five Tenets: Courtesy, Integrity, Self-Control, Perseverance and Indomitable Spirit. The program is “Family Style” meaning that it is open to males and females, children and adults, from 6 years old and up. New students are accepted continuously. Ongoing Programs SCHOOL AGE CARE 2019 (Ages 5-12) Before and After School Programs provide age-appropriate child care with quality programming, youth activities and events. Clubs, activities, and USDA approved meals and snacks are offered. Transportation to and from select schools is available. The program focuses on team building, cognitive growth, and development of social awareness and problem solving skills. The staff offers homework support to youth enrolled in the School Age Program.

TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM (Ages 9-18) Youth Program members are eligible for transportation to and from select schools: Leland Elementary, Point Fermin Elementary, White Point Elementary, Dana Middle School and San Pedro HighSchool. Upon return, registered youth may enjoy our Open Recreation Program, or go directly home. $50 PER WEEK *Note: Participation in the transportation program does not automatically register youth for after school activities. Age: 6+ (Ages 6 – 8 need to have a parent present) Membership Required | Cost: FREE Join the Youth Program as we host a group of volunteers from Cal State University Long Beach to participate in STEM activities. We will be conducting rocket launches and glider plane flight activities. Youth will have the opportunity to fly a drone. OPEN RECREATION PROGRAM (Ages 9-18) This program provides recreational options for all dependents of active duty, retired military, DoD employees, and contractors living on base under a Tierra Vista lease contract. Youth must have current membership and be between 9-18 years of age. Community service programs, clubs, and classes are offered with focus on recreational activities, cognitive challenges, and team building. $30.00 PER MEMBERSHIP YEAR- All memberships expire in September, regardless of when the membership was purchased.

CONGRESSIONAL AWARD OPPORTUNITIES The Congressional Award is the United States Congress’ award for young Americans. It is non-partisan, voluntary, and non-competitive. The program is open to all 14 to 23 year-olds. Participants earn Bronze, Silver, & Gold Congressional Award Certificates & Bronze, Silver, & Gold Congressional Award Medals. Did You Know? Individuals taking care of someone elseâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s children in base quarters on a regular basis for more than 10 hours per week must be licensed. Residents of base housing who knowingly provide unlicensed child care are in danger of losing their base housing privileges. The care in FCC is provided in the home of individuals licensed under AFI 34-144 guidelines. These licensed child care providers must complete (at a minimum) 24 hours of orientation, be certified in CPR/First Aid, complete AF child care training modules, obtain liability insurance and have their home meet fire prevention, health and safety guidelines. Your School will send home a U.S. Department of Education Federal Survey form for parents to complete and return with your child to school. WHY IS IMPACT AID IMPORTANT? This survey provides funding for your child's' education. Federal funding can mean an extra 35 - 45 Million dollars annually for your students. i.e. Books, Technology, Programs, Staffing and Infrastructure.

The CIPA Energy Academy is a 6 week paid internship program giving participants real work experience. Interns recieve on the job training in th oil and natural gas industry ranging from $16-20 per hour. This progam is for 18 year old high school graduates. Deadline: March 1, 2020
