20 10 Miler Walk/Run

In honor of the USSF Inaugural 10-miler taking place in Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL on December 10, we will be having a 10-miler 5k Run/ Walk challenge that will take place all week. The goal is to run/walk 10 miles in a week.

22 Ugly Sweater Contest

Air Force youth, stop by the Youth Center wearing your ugliest sweater and join us for games, prizes, and food.

Come by and drop off your letters to Santa in our magical mailbox located in the Community Center Fireside Room from December 1 - 16 during our normal business hours. Initial & Pre-Separation Counseling Monday, December 5 & 19 | Tuesday, January 3 & 17 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Are you separating or retiring from military service? Fulfill your Initial Counseling and Pre-separation briefing requirement at this mandatory briefing preferably 18 months before separating and 24 months prior to retiring, but mandated NLT 365 days before leaving the service.

December 12-14 | January 9-11 • 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The three day format covers a broad range of topics from financial planning to job search to a VA benefits briefing. Spouses are highly encouraged to attend. This workshop is mandatory for all separating members, highly recommended for retiring military members.

December 20-21 | January 17-18 • 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Prizes are awarded when you reach highlighted landmarks along the map. If you participate in the Trek across California, you can transfer your mileage to the USA Trek starting from Amarillo, Texas. NIGHT YOUTH PROGRAMS

The National Arts Contest recognizes Club members for their artistic accomplishments. Work that you submit will be judged by professional artists, with selected artwork recognized at local, regional and national levels. Submit your artwork in fine arts categories such as watercolor, mixed media, colored pencil, or photography. Continuing in January, Youth Center members can participate in art sessions specifically focused on these categories.

The Community Center is taking donations for the Harbor Animal Shelter located here in San Pedro. This shelter helps find homes for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rabbits, and many more furry friends. Please drop off donations at the Community Center.

Items needed: White vinegar, bird food, cat & dog treats, reptile supplies, aquatic turtle food, cat/dog/rabbit toys, guinea pig/hamster food, bandanas for photos, cat beds, pee pads, newspaper, pet waste bags, leashes & collars (all sizes), towels & blankets, & non-clumping cat litter.

Far from a simple babysitting service, the FCC Program is looking for individuals who wish to be child care professionals. You can operate your own home-based business, set your own hours, be with your children and care for other children at home. The FCC staff will train and help you provide safe and nurturing in-home care for children 2 weeks to 12 years in your home. You must be 18 years of age or older, able to speak English, in good mental and physical health and willing to undergo a comprehensive background check. • Assists military families with educational issues

• Forges partnerships between the military, community and schools

School Liaisons are also an initial contact for participation in the Youth Sponsorship Program which builds resilience in youth and eases transition. School Liaison support is free of charge and open to all Department of Defense identification card holders, educators who serve military students and community partners involved with pre-K-12 education.
