Akeredolu was declared governor-elect by the Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali, having scored 244,457 votes. Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, standard bearer, Eyitayo Jegede, got 146,784, while Chief Olusola Oke of the Alliance for Democracy, AD, came third with 107,124.
