Brief Introduction.

The project proposes a new system of housing that, through densification and temporality, caters to the new typology in Homewood.

Cultural Sensitivity.

The existing housing in Homewood is a series of linear repetitive single-family homes for all types of residents. Therefore, different situations impact people differently. With the notion of community at its center and identifying the porch as a core cultural element, the project proposes a transition from a fixed, small, linear, and isolated block to an expandable, loose-fit, social, and cooperative neighborhood.

New Typologies of Housing Plus Porch.

The houses are designed as flexible module that evolves with time and needs. Through the concept of loose-fit housing, the units are designed around a fixed core, with the flexibility to change the layout around the core as per the need of the user.

Final Intent.

The aim is to prepare a prototypic system, iterations of which can be expanded to other blocks in Homewood to repair the community and to attract more people live together in Homewood area.

Brief Introduction.

"Democratic City: A New Form Of Parliament" is the proposal of the Taiwan Parliament that belongs to this generation on the land of democracy and freedom, which is based on the observation of microscopic activities and the composition of buildings. An architectural container letting information can be freely initiated, filtered, transplanted, and finally transformed into active feedback to a new power structure society. Issue.

The phenomenon described by Manuel Castells, "The technological revolution centered on information technology, is accelerating the reshaping of the material foundation of society, and thus changing the long-standing relationship between the world economy and the national society." The political values and institutions of the "age of extremes" are also undergoing drastic changes, and society is thus molecularized and expanded to extremes. Among the opposing structures, what role will architecture play?

Assumption/Scenario.

This project is to comment on the current political phenomenon in Taiwan, trying to create a building system that reflects the environment in the post-2020 information revolution period, and define the different roles that participate in the power structure of the new era. The technique is connected to the base, allowing the information in the society to flow freely and transparently in the building, and can be requested and viewed by the public. Program.

With different voice groups intervening in the parliament as the basis for space design, and the “Democratic Culture Experience Hall”, which is a public experience, penetrates the space of the news media, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and deliberative organs to define its visual privacy and physical Participatory.

Concept/Keywords.

A system should be arranged through micro-perception and different interpretations of various phenomena. Therefore, based on a series of observing the current situation we are facing in Taiwan’s politics, The proposal is to break through the existing Legislative Yuan, and add in a new type of complex volume, which in turn affects the political relations between one another, reversing the authorities of common politics influencing the architecture. Operation/Design.

Based on the research of the Athens AGORA democratic city, different PROGRAM and space forms are sorted out, which are fed back to the design in a geometric configuration, different levels of viewing relationships are defined, a series of political participation experiences are planned, and different The change of the sense of space in the field creates a "political museum" in which people are the objects to be viewed, and information is the bridge of communication with each other. It will eventually become a building system that can show the social-psychological state.

Looking through the mosques in Taiwan, I see their structure and aesthetic display styles of the Persian period, which were transplanted entirely to our land without many modifications. To integrate into the local culture and community structure, I analyzed the development of the forms of religious buildings; thus came up with a set of rules: applying spatial textures of Taiwan to deconstruct various spatial elements, light elements, and form elements of Taiwan, increase communication by adding bathhouses, forming an exclusive Taiwanese mosque building.

This design attempts to implant a living room-like area for community participation in the staggered space of the Gongguan district, Taipei, blending different religions and cultures. The initial development of the design aimed at the care and engagement of religious minorities in Taiwan. Therefore, I chose to create a Muslim space for pilgrimage and worship and attached rooms for the community's needs. More, through the setting of exhibiting space, nearby residents or tourists could understand the unique Islamic culture and get a glimpse of Muslims' faith and daily life.

The main concept of the walking experience in the "Open Mosque" is to sense the flexible nature ingredients from the light, plant, and water. Due to the "Gap" in the architecture, the light and air can easily come in. It makes the Pilgrimage Corridor being more comfortable to walk through and tried to find the holy feeling in every corner of this building.

People on the first floor can see the steam trail below and witness the religious process from Muslims quietly. The fluctuant water's voice will spread out in the whole area. The population in Taiwan can join the activities in the mosque but not try to bother them. Also, because of Taiwan's rainy weather, "Open Mosque" offers shelter on the first floor, by creating an open plaza to welcome different ethnicity to join the community's activities and understand more about the Muslims.

Brief Introduction.

Taoyuan’s Qingpu area is a developing urban area. The surrounding arts and culture and public facilities have become complete, attracting many young people to live here. Therefore, starting from young family members as the conceptual starting point extends an attempt to create adults and children.

Concept.

The attempt to connect uses space to express the self-evidence of different worlds, but they are interdependent. In the end, we call this imagination an "island" and develop a form, "Island Hopping," by stacking the weights and bodies. Create a whimsical world for children, free to change the island where they are located; the "floating island" raises specific floors to form a transparent floating space, creating a resting space for adults, independent and not wanting to be disturbed but taking care of children Vision, to explore the spatial characteristics of adults more in-depth compared to children's more concentrated "islands"; "children's islands, adults' homes" is a new and warm life proposal for families who are preparing to start a family in the future.

Program.

This community house with parent-child issues as the primary development axis has produced many exciting activities, such as parent-child reading room, outdoor performance stage, parent-child kitchen, and most importantly, the "inclusive play equipment" is placed in the base. Ideas to match each public function with the idea of communion, to create the most friendly children's play space, and hope to stimulate children's senses and imagination through changes in colors, scales, and materials.

Brief Introduction

Costa da Caparica is considered nowadays a place of leisure for the local people of Portugal and for tourists who come to enjoy their vacations to the coast. The place has become a tourist atrayecte and is also a place of leisure for many surfers from around the world. Given this situation, the need to build in the area is increasing over the years.

Details

Our proposal is to generate a new urban area in Costa da Caparica, which becomes part of what already exists and is simply a new, enriching and enjoyable place for everyone who lives in the area and who comes to it. The idea is composed of residential spaces and equipment, converted into a sport center. The open spaces that we can observe throughout the project generate the opportunity to enjoy green and paved spaces.

In conculsion, the objective is to give a new use to a plot that today has no use and to promote the use of empty space in the best possible way to give the inhabitants of Costa da Caparica a good place to proper.

In order to increase both tourism and residents, a new zoning near Av. 1º de Maio is created, conecting both sides os this avenue and the new blocks with the existing ones. Besides that, the old access road to the agricultural lands was expanded to allow a direct connection with the southest beaches, trying to reduce the summer traffic for central Costa da Caparica area.

Brief Introduction.

Nowadays, people do not have time to listen to other voices and talk to people. Therefore, this project tried to create a meditation space for people living in urban spaces. People can freely talk in front of curve walls, and the sound will bring the content to the other side of architecture. The most exciting experience is that the people of two sides will not meet each other so that people might talk to strangers comfortably. Issue.

People nowadays are lacked communication. Moreover, people living in the city are more willing to communicate with others on the cellphone. As a result, citizens will need a quiet space to meditate and talk to people in a real way. Operation.

This project is designed and implemented in a public space. People can climb into soundtopia, sit in the cave, and listen to others' voices. The sponge-like looking delivers the voices, and the gauze mask can block the visions between two sides. Therefore, the gauze creates a blurred view between two spaces in the micro sanctuary. If the people want to meditate, they can only enter from both sides, so they will not meet each other. Furthermore, the soundtopia in other places in the city might receive weak voices from other soundtopia.

Brief Introduction.

The concept is based on the "agricultural land" through the plot. Furthermore, I extend it to discuss the relationship between humans and nature. So, the drawings discuss the "nature growing phenomenon." About Site.

The site is located in the center of the neighborhood of Marvila, overlooking the riverfront and old Marvila. The area is imbued with a solid architectural imagination. The site's northeast is defined by the ruins of a palace built in the first half of the 18th century, typical of this time when Marvila was a leisure area for the wealthier classes. The industrial past is still present today alongside the more recent housing projects, such as towers bordering the north of the plot.

Concept/Operation.

The site has a connection with the surrounding garden. Because of that, I created a new agricultural pattern on the site. To avoid ruining the garden, I present another path through the site, a "bridge" for people walking, meeting, sightseeing on this new construction element—making a highly different typology of architecture in Marvila. The "bridge" is an excellent way to interact with natural objects. It allows people to flow organic and choose which way to go or where to stay. After the "bridge," we also considered using space. I would make the urban spaces being on a higher level. Owing to letting the garden below have great sunlight entering. Also, to divide the usage of the spaces. Gardening will be at the ground level. People are meeting in the middle level, and the functional area will be on the top for a better view and a better feeling.

Brief Introduction

With the continuous expansion of cities, the road system has therefore extended rapidly. Nowadays, the public construction-bridges are facing the problem of aging, especially highways, which are made of concrete and steel. Due to the vibration energy generated by the cars and the energy generated by the wind and earthquake, the life span and the safety of the bridge is a difficulty for engineers

Therefore, Shock Seizer in the column is designed to maintain the structural safety of the bridge and meanwhile collect the kinetic energy generated by external vibration and force, converting it into electricity for the street lamps.

Brief Introduction

The pandemic has reshaped the delivery business in the city, making changes to the urban city, such as the reduction of sidewalks, more scooters on the streets, and more frequent car accidents. The safety of couriers is also often ignored.

Details

I-Transfer Wall provides an effective urban solution. Through the technology of the Internet of Things and mobile phone applications, delivery personnel and customers can have zero contacts by using big data to analyze the nature of urban areas and flexibly adjust the transportation volume and the location of stations, to form a sustainable and improved urban delivery platform. Integrate the fresh-keeping system and disinfection system into the storage wall to ensure the safety of food supplies, and make diversion and pickup through the mobile phone program. Improving the existing platform's shortcomings of disorderly and uncontrollable pickup when the traffic volume is large.
