This class is our structure experiment in my sophomore year. We cooperate with Architecture Department of Shih Chien University. The course objective is to build a bridge that the span must be longer than 5 meters and can support all teammates on it.

Introduction of Current Situation This space is old strucure lab in our department. After building the new one, this space is occupied by students gradually. Vice-chair wants to plan the space, so students can have a better space to use.At the same time, we decide to build the wind wall and foundation beam. It begins in 2012 spring.

Beacuse two parts on right side are using by students, we dismantle the wall that was for storage before on left side.
Space Plan In 2010 fall, we add loft, because this space has a high ceiling to 4.8 meters and old struct lab has a loft for storage. we want to keep it so that student can use it.
We segment the space for three parts. It is dynamic ,intermediary , and static part from red to blue. The yellow part is the loft.
Reinforcement
The building doesn’t have foundation beam in initial design, and we dismantle two shear walls, so we want to build wind wall and foundation beam for safety. Vice-chair asks architect and Structural Engineer to prospect. 11
Loft Design We want to keep the red part spacious, we put the loft on th corner for reducing the influence of dynamic part. We even want to take off the pillar which stand on the center of dynamic part. Therefore, students can rehearse a plan or a dance. We use cables to replace pillar, and ďŹ x the loft on the wall to make it stable.

ShueiLi WoodWorkshop 2013 Continuing the Student Space Reconstruction, we go to ShueiLi Wood Practice Factory of NTU for learning woodworking. we divide into six groups : loft floor, stair, table, railing, and beam. What I participate are beam and table.

Site Investigation This is the map of Xitou Experimental Forest. The tourist can’t pass through 豆腐橋 when it rains, because it will be flooded. But 豆腐橋 is an importantnode in Xitou Experimental Forest. For example, if we start off from 銀杏林,we have to circle around the forest so that we can reach 空中走廊. So we think it is important to build a reliable bridge on the site.
