Psychic says Roman soldiers cause accident black spot A PSYCHIC made headlines and was interviewed on national radio after saying that an accidentplagued part of the M6 in Cheshire may suffer from more crashes than other stretches of the motorway because Roman soldiers haunt it. The M6 runs from junction 19 of the M1 at the Catthorpe Interchange, near Rugby, then heads north, passing Stoke-on-Trent, Liverpool, Manchester, Preston, Lancaster and Carlisle. It terminates at the Gretna junction in Scotland. One press report stated: “A series of strange phenomena have been reported by motorists between junctions 16 and 19, including phantom lorries, spectral hitchhikers and sightings of legionnaires. “Mike Brooker says the disturbance caused by a £250 million upgrade project could be to blame. “He said a Roman burial ground in the area of the roadworks may have awoken 2,000-year-old spirits which now haunt motorists and cause crashes.” Mr Brooker, 53, from Northwich, has dubbed the area “Cheshire’s Bermuda Triangle” because of the relatively high number of accidents on the “treacherous” stretch of road. He told ChesireLive: “I know people who have lost their lives and families, and been affected by accidents on this stretch of motorway. “There are reports of a Roman burial ground and that there was an historic clash between Scottish and English armies. There are so many variables and possibilities. “For decades now, the number of accidents on the M6 motorway between junctions 17 and 19 is completely unprecedented. Statistically, this is without doubt one of the worst ‘accident black spots’ on any motorway network in the UK.” Highways England is upgrading a twenty-mile stretch of the motorway, which will allow it to adjust speed limits in real time in an attempt to ease congestion

and make the road safer. The works include emergency areas at junctions 18 and 19, 70 CCTV camera and 258 new electronic signs. Mr Brooker warned that accidents in the area will continue because the reason behind them is paranormal and he plans to uncover the cause. “There appear to be two principal answers that come up,” he said. “One is that the motorway was built on a Roman burial site. “The other is that it was the site of the slaughter of a number of the Scottish army dating back over 200 years. “There is no clear evidence either way to support or substantiate these claims, but what is clear is that something is very wrong to cause so many accidents on what is to all intents and purposes a fairly straight stretch of road. “I believe there is something supernatural that has attached itself to this particular stretch of motorway. “When ‘science’ holds its hands up and is at a complete loss to explain this plethora of accidents and incidents between junctions 17 and 19 of the M6, there is perhaps an alternative explanation.” Mr Brooker avoids driving along the M6 between junctions 16 and 19 because of its “negative energy” and takes a 45-minute detour. Speaking to Tom Swarbrick on LBC, Mr Brooker said that many people have

contacted him about unusual or strange circumstances as they drove down the notorious stretch of motorway. “They get to that certain point between 16 and 19 and they’re hearing the clanging of metal,” he added. “They can smell awful burning.” Mr Brooker suggested that work to build the motorway had “disturbed energies.” He has been investigating crashes between junctions 16 and 19 after some school friends were killed in an accident in 1976. Recounting one incident, driver Declan Stewart said: “I was driving past the turnoff to Middlewich and everything got a bit darker and a strange mist drifted across the road. “I couldn’t see anything, but I could hear a faint clanging of metal. There was a smell, a sort of mix between wool, oats and offal.” A 2006 survey named the M6 as Britain’s most haunted road. Tony Simmons, sightings co-ordinator for the survey, said: “We assumed Britain’s spookiest road would turn out to be a dark lane near an ancient battlefield, but when you think about it, these findings make sense. “The M6 is one of Britain’s longest roads. It travels through many counties and therefore an immense amount of history.” Between January and August 2017 there were over 70 serious accidents between junctions 16 and 19. n PSYCHIC NEWS | NOVEMBER 2018
