I wonder if I’m making my family proud I hear all the negativity rarely the positive on the news, I see people needing help, I barely see others helping I want a change, I am smart and talented.

I pretend to be happy at my lowest, I feel the anger boiling inside, I touch others’ hearts so they can be happy, I worry, is that the right thing? do I come first? I cry in silence I stand tall, I pretend to be happy at the lowest I understand my worth and what I deserve, I say I do understand, I for the better, I try to make changes, I hope this violence and hurt comes to an end, I understand my worth and what I deserve. I am from a cold place where people have a sad story,

It makes you wanna stay home, isolate, and just imagine yourself somewhere that's totally different,

For this you just look at people and say wow look at them and look at me you will feel like a superstar like you accomplished something,

I am from a place I have to watch my back every step I take,

I am from a place where people argue over childish things and end up killing each other,

I am from a place my little brothers can't even play in a park without them getting hurt,

I am from a place you can't be free at,

If you're free you're an animal you're so many things but yourself people move away from you make you feel like you're a wild gorilla on the loose you feel like a virus people are trying to kill,

I am from a place where the image is nice but deep down inside it's ugly

In my building I am from the home with the two dogs

I'm from America and a black home I'm from a family with 10 kids in total I'm from a stable home I'm from a football family

I’m from an out of control class and a big school, so big you may need a map to walk around this maze you may think you’re walking in a traumatic problem like a math word problem impossible to solve I'm from hip hop and loud cursing for no reason music I'm from sports
