ASSIGNMENT 1: LIGHT-SPACE-MATTER MODULATOR
ASSIGNMENT 1: LIGHT-SPACE-MATTER MODULATOR
ASSIGNMENT 2: 'CUBICITY' & FORM PERCEPTION
PROCEDURE 1. paint one cube so that it disappears as a form (becoming unrecognizable as a cube) 2. paint one cube so that it stands out as a three-dimensional, opaque, solid cube (appearing as the epitomy of cubicity) ...when placed in a random manner against your irregularly draped cloth backdrop.
ASSIGNMENT 3: PRECEDENT STUDY
ITSUKUSHIMA SHRINE: This is a unique design that uses the ebb and flow to change the arch itectural space and ways that people interact with the shrine. Also creating different atmosphere around the building and torii for religious expression
LOW TIDE
HIGH TIDE
The coast at both ends of the shrine extends farther away, so that the space between the torii and the shrine is slightly enclosed, so that the torii does not appear to be isolated. At the same time, it also creates the feeling of being able to walk from one internal space, through the torii gate, to another space in the sea. This is a mysterious experience. During the high tide situation, the corridors and torii are like floating in the sea. During the low tide situation, people can interact with architectures as well as local deers.
ASSIGNMENT 3: PRECEDENT STUDY
PORTOFINO: As the transition between natural elements, the building adds a sense of hierarchy to the space, and the terrain surrounds a part of the water area, constructing an internal water body and an external water body, and distinguishing different water spaces.
As shown in the picture, the port of Portofino's waters are surrounded by surrounding mountains and houses, and the place where it meets the sea is surrounded by mountains on both sides, creating a sense of freedom from the outside world.
In Portofino, there are many different forms of contact between the ground and the sea. The most typical are these two, namely, beach plazas and commercial streets. The most attractive part of portofino is the water surrounded by its natural mountains. At the same time, the architecture and seaside space designed by the architects increase the level of transition between mountains and rivers, and also provide space and functions for tours and activities, creating an excellent tourist destination.
ASSIGNMENT 3: PRECEDENT STUDY
The design of passages should add a certain design logic to shape a sense of experience while ensuring that the function is satisfied.
ASSIGNMENT 4: MIYAJIMAGUCHI FERRY TERMINAL DESIGN ARCHITECTONIC IDEAS
CONCEALED AND UNCONCEALED; TRANSITION BETWEEN NATURAL AND CITY; ARTIFICIAL NATURAL .
SITUATION PLAN
SITE STATUS & MAIN DIRECTION OF ENTRY
When designing, it is necessary to consider removing obstacles to viewing, making the field of view more unobstructed.
SITUATION PLAN AND SIGHT ANALYSIS
The division of the main flow of people entry direction and the construction logic of the site-building is inseparable.
DESIGN CONCEPTS FORGETTING, OKU, CONCEALED ELEMENTS
1.FORGETTING:
Height difference, special corridor space and a lot of doorways. Inspiration of assignment 1&2, concealing and hidden passages.
2.OKU:
No center or multiple centers, the sense of hierarchy of space. Inspiration of assignment 3, creating interior water area and generate multiple layers of space.
3.CONCEALED ELEMENTS:
Conceals the ferry terminal itself, bringing remote elements close. Conceals underground spaces to let the mountain-shape buildings gain independence.
