PODIUM FORMING The direction of the roof slope is low in the north and high in the south. The winter in Guangzhou is mostly north wind. In order to make the building environment more comfortable, the slope of the roof raises the cold air to reduce the cold air sinking into the atrium.
Design Ideas: Change 1：Podium in the form of a traditional office building

The service area of traditional office buildings basically only meets the internal needs of the office area, which is highly exclusionary, resulting in the embarrassing situation that the urban environment is separated from one building to the other. According to the analysis of the functions and the needs around the site, only part of the surrounding area along the street has commercial functions. However the surrounding area is full of office buildings and residential buildings, which leads to a dense crowd without enough resourses. This project abandoned the traditional form of podiums of office buildings, and pursued to create a new podium model as an urban courtyard, optimize the urban environment, and reduce the excessively sharp contradiction with the other buildings.
Change 2：creating a staggered volume The height of the first floor of the group houses in this project is lowered by 2m from the ground, while the second floor is 4m above. While the whole podium is connected to the surroundings through open entrances and exits, the actual volume is separated again. A semi-enclosed “courtyard” is created, which is suitable for people to rest and stay and avoid being assimilated by the fast pace of urban life.

The first floor of the podium of this project constructs a large area of water landscapes , the volume of the building is scattered, and the road is interspersed with it like a bridge, creating a sense of detachment. While ensuring natural ventilation, due to the climate of Guangzhou, the specific heat of water can help to reduce the temperature in the outdoor environment and bring people a better climate experience in summer.
Open：Out of traditional thinking Combining with Change, it brings the opening of innovative thinking of traditional office high-rise podium function and form organization, which caters to the needs of modernity and fashion in the Internet age, and also reflects the continuous development of mobile companies to lead technological development and change society Firm belief and positive attitude.
Open & share：Open to the community (community sharing) Considering of the urgent needs of the community around the site, it creates a daily rest place for the office workers, and can still be used as a good place for public activities, catering and relaxing in the community on weekends and holidays, providing a good place for social intereactions. The surrounding buildings of the project have diverse functions, mainly office buildings, but there are also residential areas, hospitals, etc. within a radius of 1 km. The crowds are diverse. As an urban courtyard, meeting the needs of all kinds of people is the top priority of the rational use of planned land. Promoting exchanges, mutual understanding and common development among different groups of people is also an intuitive manifestation of the development of the new era.
