With the rapid development of urbanization, today’s hydrology issues are becoming increasingly prominent. Wetland parks have become an important carrier for strategically preventing flooding and drouth event, preserving important green spaces and providing leisure and entertainment for urban residents, and ensuring water security for resident daily usage. Through the analysis of iconic projects and some policy framework from local and global, taking the urban development direction and the needs of citizens as the starting point, the functional characteristics and design principles of wetland parks and water management plan are elaborated, to showcase how these precedents can enhance different perspectives of water security, included quantity, risk and quality of water resources.
