Guatemala y República Checa cuentan con 29 años de haber establecido relaciones diplomáticas.
La viceministra de Relaciones Exteriores de Guatemala, Ava Atzum Arévalo, sostuvo un encuentro bilateral con el viceministro de Asuntos Exteriores de la República Checa, Martin Tlapa, en el cual coincidieron sobre la necesidad de unir esfuerzos para mejorar sustancialmente el intercambio comercial, y así dinamizar las importaciones y exportaciones.
Bienestar económico
Además, se acordó compartir experiencias y buenas prácticas sobre temas que ayuden en la promoción del bienestar económico y social de ambas naciones, así como en la puesta en marcha de proyectos conjuntos de mutuo interés.

Guatemala and the Czech Republic have maintained diplomatic relations for 29 years.
The Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, Ava Atzum Arévalo, and the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Martin Tlapa, held a bilateral meeting to join efforts to improve trade exchange and boost imports and exports substantially.
Economic welfare

Una nueva ruta aérea estará disponible para los turistas: se trata de la que parte de la ciudad de Guatemala hacia Oaxaca, México, y viceversa, a través de TAG Airlines.
El Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores resaltó que esta nueva ruta aérea fomenta la conectividad e incentiva el turismo hacia ambos países y estrecha los lazos culturales.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that this new air route promotes connectivity, encourages tourism to both countries, and strengthens cultural ties.

El Ministerio de Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (MARN) de Guatemala, a través del proyecto piloto “Triciclos eléctricos para el transporte social, transporte de carga y sustitución de unidades en San Juan Comalapa”, impulsa la movilidad eléctrica en el país, para la descarbonización y reducción de emisión de gases de efecto invernadero.

Debido a lo anterior, se hizo entrega de vehículos a la Municipalidad de San Juan Comalapa, Chimaltenango, para que puedan transportar a los usuarios, y se desarrolló una capacitación dirigida a los conductores de las unidades. Esto representa un cambio para la protección del medio ambiente.

Próximamente, habrá un nuevo museo en Guatemala. Se trata del Museo Caracol del Tiempo, ubicado en el Parque Arqueológico Nacional Tak’alik Ab’aj, en El Asintal, Retalhuleu.
Este proyecto fue retomado por el Ministerio de Cultura y Deportes, y será donde se resguardarán piezas y objetos históricos precolombinos localizados en el área.
Las autoridades informaron que este centro cultural ten-
drá una inversión multianual de Q18 millones, y se ejecutará en 330 días calendario. Además, su desarrollo es posible gracias al trabajo interinstitucional entre la Secretaría de Planificación de la Presidencia, el Ministerio de Desarrollo Social, el Ministerio de Cultura y Deportes, autoridades locales y la familia Ralda.
Patrimonio de la Humanidad
La consolidación del museo contribuye a los esfuerzos para que Tak’alik Ab’aj sea declarado Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura (Unesco, por sus siglas en inglés).
Recorrido histórico
Contará con un recorrido por cada período histórico, a través de un guion museológico basado en la proporción áurea. En el museo se mostrarán las maravillas de la ciudad prehispánica, que fue puente entre la cultura olmeca y que presenció el nacimiento de la cultura maya.

Soon, there will be a new museum in Guatemala. The Caracol del Tiempo(The Spiral of Time) Museum is in the Tak’alik Ab’aj National Archaeological Park in El Asintal, Retalhuleu.
The Ministry of Culture and Sports has restarted this project and will store precolombian pieces and objects.
The authorities informed that this project will have a multiyear investment of Q18million completed in 330 calendar days. In addition, this is possible due to the inter-institutional work between the Planning Secretariat of the Presidency, the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, local authorities, and the Ralda family.

World Heritage
The consolidation of the museum contributes to the efforts to have Tak’alik Ab’aj declared a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Historical tour
The museum will have a tour covering each historical period through a museum script based on the the wonders of the preHispanic city that were the bridge between the Olmec culture and the witnessing of the birth of the Mayan civilization.

El Remate se encuentra a pocos minutos del Parque Nacional Tikal, donde podrá conocer el corazón del Mundo Maya o bien Uaxactún, que destaca por ser destino comunitario, el cual fue promovido por el Instituto Guatemalteco de Turismo (Inguat).
“Estos destinos tienen algo en común: son modelos de turismo comunitario, el cual se caracteriza por ser controlado y beneficiado por integrantes de las comunidades locales”, detalló la directora general del Inguat, Anayansy Rodríguez.
Pubs y hoteles
El lugar ofrece diversidad de hoteles, uno de ellos es El Gringo Perdido, que se destaca por ser ecológico, o bien la Posada del Cerro, fantástica opción para familias viajeras.
En cuanto a la gastronomía, podrá degustar de la cocina tanto local como internacional, así como la variedad de cócteles que se ofrecen. Al finalizar el día puede apreciar los atardeceres y descansar. ¡Guatemala le espera!

El golfista guatemalteco José Toledo, quien por el momento es líder en la Gira Mexicana, estuvo de visita en Guatemala y comentó sobre el año extraordinario que lleva hasta ahora, que requerirá su máximo esfuerzo en busca de la medalla Bolivariana.
“Ha sido un año excelente. Vengo de líder en la Gira Mexicana, que está por terminar, solo falta la final. Estoy contento porque es la primera vez que un guatemalteco domina la gira, después de un año, gracias a las tres victorias que tuve a lo largo de la temporada”, señaló Toledo.
Un sueño
El guatemalteco también se encuentra participando en la Gira del PGA Tour Latinoamérica, para luego participar en los Juegos Bolivarianos, en Valledupar, Colombia. “También tengo el sueño de representar a mi país en los Juegos Olímpicos de París y, ¿por qué no?, volver con una medalla”, manifestó. Guatemalan golfer Jose Toledo, who led the Mexican Tour, visited Guatemala and commented on his extraordinary year, requiring his maximum effort to search for the Bolivarian medal.

Cada año, Guatemala se convierte en el refugio de miles de aves migratorias, pues estas se trasladan desde sus hábitats de reproducción hacia lugares en donde encuentran condiciones de tiempo más favorables en lo que transcurre el invierno.
Según el Consejo Nacional de Áreas Protegidas (Conap), Guatemala cuenta con 758 registros de especies de aves, de las cuales 240 son migratorias. Mientras que la plataforma eBird cataloga a Guatemala como el décimo octavo país de su lista.
¿Qué aves pueden encontrarse?
Entre las aves que se pueden observar se encuentran los azacuanes, gavilanes, águilas, milanos, incluso halcones, aunque estos últimos en menor cantidad.
Asimismo, la golondrina de pecho gris, la cual elige al departamento de Petén para reproducirse. Se estima que su población está en declive.
Guatemala es signataria de convenios para la Protección de Especies Migratorias, por ejemplo:
• Convención sobre el Comercio Internacional de Especies Amenazadas de Fauna y Flora Silvestres (Cites) (Guatemala es miembro a partir de 1979, a través del Decreto 63-7) • Convención sobre la Conservación de las Especies Migratorias de Animales Silvestres (Guatemala es miembro a partir de 2017, a través del Decreto 21-201) • Convenio sobre Diversidad Biológica (CDB), (Guatemala es miembro a partir de 1995, a través del Decreto 5-9).

¿Cuándo se pueden ver?
Aunque las aves migran en diferentes momentos durante el año, la principal época de migración coincide con el invierno, por lo que la llegada de las aves se da principalmente entre septiembre y octubre, y su regreso entre marzo y abril de cada año.

Guatemala también ofrece el aviturismo, con el cual usted podrá conocer las diferentes especies de aves que habitan en el país. El Instituto Guatemalteco de Turismo (Inguat) cuenta con cinco rutas, las cuales también son paseos únicos; además, podrá explorar la arqueología y riqueza natural del país.

Every year, Guatemala becomes the stage for thousands of migratory birds moving from their breeding habitats to places where they find more favorable weather conditions during the winter.

Council of Protected Areas (CONAP), Guatemala has 758 records of bird species, of which 240 are migratory. The eBird platform lists Guatemala as the eighteenth country on its list.
What birds can be found?
Among the observable birds are the azacuanes (meaning drought-bringers), sparrow hawk, eagles, red kites, and even falcons, although the latter are in smaller numbers.
Also, the gray-breasted martin is a bird that chooses the department of Petén to reproduce; its population is in decline.
When can they be seen?
Although the birds migrate at different times during the year, the main migration season is winter. So, the birds’ arrival is mainly between September and October, and their return between March and April each year.
Birdwatching
Guatemala also offers bird watching, with which you can learn about the different species of birds that inhabit the country. The Guatemalan Institute of Tourism (Inguat) has five routes, which are also unique tours; you can also explore the archeology and natural wealth of the country.
