Last weekend, the 12th Global Surf Reserve was officially inaugurated in Costa Rica. It is the first of its kind in Central America. The reserve is created to support environmental conservation in the region and to preserve one of the best waves in Costa Rica. Hermosa was officially selected by the committee of Save the Waves at the end of the year 2020. As part of the requirements to become a surf reserve, a comprehensive Stewardship Plan was developed to ensure the wellbeing and sustainability of the Hermosa community. This part of the project was carried out by A-01 (A Company / A Foundation) in collaboration with Consost S.A., the Playa Hermosa World Surfing Reserve Stewardship Council, the Municipality of Garabito and the local community. Find here the executive summary of the Stewardship Plan.
