A nurturing home provides for balance between togetherness and privacy, tranquility and stimulation, play and focus. Within limited space, the home transforms according to these opposing qualities to support a balance between mind, body, and soul as a precondition for quality of life and ultimately a healthy child development. The combination of micro conditions within a given macro environment offers opportunities that allow children to define, claim, and interpret space according to their needs. The resulting plasticity of use offers choices and incentives that encourage the natural curiosity that leads to exploration, learning, creating.
