MY MISSION

WHAT I HEARD • Guide visitors to the zoo • Attract other visitors to the zoo • Signage has to have a good readability • Incorporate WCS identity system into signage design • Connect people to WCS conservation work and draw awareness to conservation and take action THE GOALS • Design effective signage that helps visitors get to Queens Zoo easily • Design understandable wayfinding signage for kids and adults • Design a responsive conservation kiosk that attracts visitors to donate and participate

MY BIG IDEA

FOLLOW ANIMAL TRACES TO TH E Z O O

Visitors will role play as park ranger, looking at animals marks and traces from subway 111 street, to 111 street and in Corona park. By following the clue , which are scratches and footprints of puma, visitors will be able to navigate to Queens Zoo effortlessly. FOOTPRINTS

as part of the Species Survival Program (SSP), a cooperative breeding program designed to enhance the genetic viability and demographic stability of animal populations in zoos accredited by the Association

Born on April 29, the female fawn weighed one pound at birth and could reach 20 pounds as an adult. The young deer is still nursing

but will soon transition to a diet of fresh leaves, grain, kale, carrots and hay.
