Casa’s unique visual art studio space is available for individuals to work independently in their preferred art discipline. Fully-equipped, communal studios for textile, printmaking, photography, woodworking, sculpture, pottery and 2D art forms are accessible by Studio Access Pass holders. A brief consultation with a studio technician is required to demonstrate a sufficient level of proficiency regarding the use of tools and specialized studio equipment. “I’ve been a Casa member for 3 years. I got my start taking a beginner wheel class and continue to enjoy working with clay. Being in the studio is a welcome diversion from the stresses of everyday life. People shouldn’t feel intimidated by using a pottery wheel, you can hand-build wonderful pieces as well.” – Tammy Hollingsworth
“An inclusive and opening environment that allows for creative inspiration. The staff is always keen to give advice and critique on an artist’s latest work. The large open studios with natural light allow the artists not only room to create their work but the atmosphere in which to do so.” – Brad Dunn

PATRICK NEU - SALAMANDER COMPLEX (Directed by Stéphane Manchematin and Serge Steyer, 2014, 80m)
The French artist Patrick Neu lives in a remote island village to the north of the Vosges, far from all of the central focal points of the art world. He creates his pieces slowly, with the patience and precision inherited from Flemish artists. He works with materials not often found in the world of art: bee wings, soot on glass, ink sculpture, butterfly wings, shed snakeskin, eggshells, painting on ashes. One day, the director of the prestigious Palais de Tokyo in Paris pays him a visit: after following his work for fifteen years, he wants to commission him with his first individual exhibition. Neu accepts, but on the condition that he will not have to change his methods in any way. The film follows him as he leaves the safety of his studio and prepares to produce his exhibition in Paris.
