Why Board Certify? A notable acheivement for any physician, board certifi cation is also a trusted and tangible demonstration of the mastery of core competencies. Prospective patients, potential employers and peers all look to this standard. Private-practice physicians fi nd certifi cation to be a valuable asset in both building their practices and in boosting patient confi dence. Today, many hospitals and other health care organizations now require board certification for privileging and credentialing. BCFM provides a rigorous, real-world and clinically-based test to ensure physicians are able to provide the best possible care to their patients.

A Vital Role Family medicine physicians devote themselves to providing comprehensive care to people of all ages. Patients put a great deal of trust in their family physicians. It is a vital role that, depending on the resources available in the community, often involves much more than conducting annual physicals and diagnosing medical conditions.
