Legal Disclaimer By submitting a question via telephone, all ABPS Diplomates understand that no attorney-client relationship is created, that the legal advice is of a limited nature, and that there is no expectation by either the Diplomate or the attorney that the attorney will provide continuing representation in the matter. Further, each Diplomate understands that, ordinarily, there would be no systematic check for conflicts of interest and that no conflict of interest would arise unless the responding attorney actually knew of an existing conflict of interest. Finally, participation in the Program by a Diplomate or the responding attorney will not preclude Clarke Hill PLC from undertaking or continuing representation of a client with interests adverse to a Diplomate utilizing the ABPS Ombudsman Program’s toll free number.
Need Help with a Legal Question? As a Diplomate of the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS) you can ask your legal question through the Ombudsman Program. A toll free telephone number has been set up and attorneys from the firm of Clark Hill PLC stand ready to help you. The Ombudsman Program is a free service provided to members of ABPS. It is intended to provide quick and limited guidance on various legal issues such as credentialing or privileges issues; disciplinary matters, licensing concerns and other legal issues. If your matter requires action beyond what can be covered in a thirty minute phone call, you are free to retain Clark Hill or any other attorney to represent you. ABPS has negotiated a reduced billing rate from Clark Hill. Please make sure you inquire about this rate when speaking to a Clark Hill attorney. Please understand that the services offered through the Ombudsman Program Toll Free Number are intended to be general in nature. No attorney-client relationship is established until you decide to retain an attorney and the nature of the attorney-client relationship has been explained to you.
In order to serve ABPS Diplomates, Clark Hill has established a toll free telephone number (800) for the Ombudsman Program. The toll free telephone number is intended to centralize calls to one location in the firm, with a single attorney contact who will be responsible for receiving physician inquiries and coordinating legal services between the inquiring Diplomate and firm attorneys within the Diplomate’s region of the country. All calls will be returned within one (1) business day. Clark Hill has divided the United States into 3 regions to better serve the ABPS Diplomates: Western, Midwest and Eastern regions. After your initial call to the toll free number a regional attorney will be responsible for answering your preliminary legal questions and acting as your legal counsel should you decide to retain Clark Hill PLC.
