tume Beyoncé Knowles chose to wear for the song “Grown woman”, during her Mrs. Carter world tour. The song tells the story of a young girl dreaming about her goals and evolving into an in-dependent woman. Even through Beyoncé’s music is very much rooted in the pop genre, this song’s rhythms and on her costume but her dancer’s costumes, as well. Beyonce’ hits the stage wearing a Kenzo spring/ summer jumpsuit adorned with a unique colorful dance to the pop beat.

She’s got a smile that it seems to me Reminds me of childhood memories Where everything Was as fresh as the bright blue sky Now and then when I see her face She takes me away to that special place And if I stared too long I’d probably break down and cry Sweet child o’ mine Sweet love of mine She’s got eyes of the bluest skies As if they thought of rain I’d hate to look into those eyes And see an ounce of pain Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place Where as a child I’d hide And pray for the thunder and the rain To quietly pass me by [3x] Sweet child o’ mine Sweet love of mine [4x] Where do we go? Where do we go now? Where do we go? Sweet child o’ mine

an iconic style; the style of famous rock guitarist Slash. What might have begun as a costume eventually evolved into a personal style. The big leather hat, the black Rayban glasses and his signa-ture long curly hair. For Slash I chose “Sweet child of mine” by Guns and Roses, Slash was part of the band when song was released. During the intro to the song Slash has the only solo. his personal style as well. Through his performances Raybans, similar hats and of course the long curly jackets get added to the mix.

The next example is Heavy Metal and the song is “God Of Thunder” by Kiss. The band put a lot of effort playing hard rock and heavy metaL. The band’s trademark was lot of grotesque makeup and black, “The Starchild “ is Paul Stanley, “The Demon” is Gene Simmons, “The Spaceman” is Ace Frehley, “The culinity, aggression, and machismo.” Heavy metal hair “symbolized the hate, angst and disenchantment according to journalist Nader Rahman. 13. Ave Maria -Maria Callas - Unknown

Ave Maria! maiden mild! Listen to a maiden’s prayer! Thou canst hear though from the wild; Thou canst save amid despair. Safe may we sleep beneath thy care, Though banish’d, outcast and reviled – Maiden! hear a maiden’s prayer; Mother, hear a suppliant child! Ave Maria

Shall seem with down of eider piled, The murky cavern’s heavy air Shall breathe of balm if thou hast smiled; Then, Maiden! hear a maiden’s prayer, Mother, list a suppliant child! Ave Maria! Ave Maria! stainless styled. Foul demons of the earth and air, From this their wonted haunt exiled, We bow us to our lot of care, Beneath thy guidance reconciled; Hear for a maid a maiden’s prayer, And for a father hear a child! Ave Maria.

The next costume represents the Opera. The song which I chose is the Ave Maria sung by Soprano Maria Callas. This is a religious classical piece, and like most arias they tend to be very dra-matsee that the singer holds and expands the sound of her notes. As a result one word might take a few designed to make Callas look like a queen. The costume is designed by famous cos-tume designer, Umberto Tirelli.

See that girl, watch that scene, digging the Dancing Queen Friday night and the lights are low Looking out for the place to go You come in to look for a king Anybody could be that guy Night is young and the music’s high You’re in the mood for a dance And when you get the chance... You are the Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only seventeen Dancing Queen, feel the beat from the tambourine See that girl, watch that scene, digging the Dancing Queen You’re a teaser, you turn ‘em on Leave them burning and then you’re gone Looking out for another, anyone will do You’re in the mood for a dance And when you get the chance... You are the Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only seventeen Dancing Queen, feel the beat from the tambourine See that girl, watch that scene, digging the Dancing Queen

ABBA made history with their iconic colorful dance costumes. Surprisingly “The reason for the wild cos8

The song I chose is the “Dancing Queen” because the story of the song related directly with the band’s disco style music and their performance style. Conclusion/ The Experience The moment the visitor enters the exterior gate of Saint James she must walk directly inside of the ders. The suitcases also represent the journey to Dingle made by the traveler, the costumes and the mannequins. To make the trip the costumes were packed inside these suitcases and it appears as if the the idea that she is not the only traveller, that there are others taking the journey with her. The Church is a communal space of worship that brings the visitors, the costumes and the per-formers together on the same level. The single level erases the boundary between audience and per-former, which is visitors and costumes, it is the communal space and atmosphere that Saint James Church creates and end up. The moment the visitor enters the musical landscape and begins walking (proceeding on her journey), an instrumental version of a song begins to play within the “musical landscape.” A 30 second iconic costume. Once the visitor steps in front of a mannequin, the music STOPS and the COSTUME iconic costumes, hearing the “musical landscapes,” and listening to the var-ious melodies, I want her to sis, between silence and sound, between music and fashion.
