The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre is a showcase of pioneering film and kinetic sculpture artist Len Lye, and boasts an ever-changing series of exhibitions that span his work and that of top contemporary artists from around New Zealand and the world. The surrounding arts precinct features a growing number of galleries, cafés, boutique fashion stores and accommodation.
Throughout Taranaki you’ll be able to sample the works of the region’s artists. Start with Stratford’s Percy Thomson Gallery or Hāwera’s Lysaght Watt and explore the region’s many private galleries and studios, or check out the Taranaki Arts Trail or Ōakura Arts Trail.
