St John’s Hospice has been providing palliative care for a wide range of life shortening conditions in North Lancashire and the South Lakes since 1986. Back at the beginning of July Sian, Hannah and Kayleigh took to the shores of Morecambe in their fetching Abacus Creative Resources T-Shirts to do the annual Cross Bay Walk to help raise awareness and vital funds for the hospice. Crossing the sands is a tradition that dates back to the 1500s but it can only be done at certain times of the year and under strict instruction from an expert guide. Although off to a soggy start, the team waded out across the bay to complete the eight mile route and were greeted by glorious sunshine upon reaching Grange over Sands.
