WHOLE LOTTA LOVE

I

t’s the love month! Ika nga ng evercontroversial na si Kris Aquino—whose birthday is on February 14, same as Heart Evangelista-Escudero and John Prats—we should always love, love, love! On that note, this special shoutout goes to the one and only Mother Earth of my life, ang pinakamamahal kong nanay na si Valentina Martinez-Simeon, who’s also celebrating her natal day on February 14. (Dahil diyan, sinama ko ang kuwento ng Unkabogable Star na si Vice Ganda in this issue, in which we detail the vacay he lovingly treated his dear mother, too!) Hehe. In this new issue of Celebrity Radar magazine, inihahandog sa inyo ng team namin ang iba’t ibang kuwento ng pagmamahal. Mas lalo pa nating mamahalin ang dalawang ito dahil buong tapang nilang sinagot lahat ng mga tanong namin, all for the love of you, our dear readers! Kung unconditional love naman ng isang magulang ang hanap mo, our feature on fabulous comedienne Candy Pangilinan and how she takes care of her adorable son Quentin (who has special needs) is for you. From one Pangilinan to another, read all about Donny Pangilinan and Kisses Delavin (known to their fans as the fast-rising love team DonKiss) and how much they love working with each other on their teleserye Playhouse.

Photo op with the lovely couple, David Semerad and Gwen Zamora, matapos namin kiligin ni Josh Mercado, who wrote the article on them, sa kuwento ng pagibig ng dalawa.

Maaari mo ring balikan ang mga kasal nina Iza Calzado at Lotlot de Leon to their respective husbands. We also featured other kinds of love in our pages. Kyline Alcantara, GMA-7’s newest hot property, talks about her love for her fans, parents, and how much she loves being part of the Kapuso network. Mother Ricky Reyes opens up about how his love for work helped him launch his beauty empire—and how he’s managing everything with his longtime partner by his side. You can also take a gander at all the big bikes showbiz’s big boys love riding, not to mention Angel Locsin’s highly-anticipated TV comeback via The General’s Daughter. All these and more for all of you, our dear readers! We put a whole lotta love into this issue, so we hope you enjoy it. Happy Valentine’s, everyone!

He studied theology at the San Carlos Seminary in Guadalupe, Makati to become a priest, but in the end he realized that he had a different calling. Michael Angelo has a lot of showbiz friends, chief among them Ai-Ai delas Alas and Dingdong Dantes. His friendship with the former gave him access to someone who taught him how to be kuwelang kausap at kung paano magpatawa nang hindi na-o-offend ang kapwa niya. Meanwhile, he was close enough to Dingdong that he was able to steer the Kapuso star towards the right path in life (he was the one who advised Dingdong not to run for office). Aside from being a comedian, isang brand ambassador, motivational speaker and PR practitioner din si Michael Angelo. Marami siyang kliyente na negosyante at politiko. #MichaelAngelo The Sitcom is helmed by Earl Ignacio and written by Chito Francisco. Kasama ni Michael Angelo sa sitcom sina Bea Binene, Betong Sumaya, Derrick Monasterio, John Feir at Maey Bautista.

THREE MEN, A LADY AND LOTS OF LAUGHS

BONG IS BACK! Recently, Regal Films matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde hosted a lunch for actor and former senator Bong Revilla. She was so happy to see Bong again that she even played piano when the latter arrived at Gloria Maris in Greenhills, San Juan. Maine Mendoza is another choice and of course, why not newly-minted Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray? Dumating din sa pagtitipon sina Annabelle Rama, Eric Quizon, Manay Ichu Maceda, Nanay Lolit Solis, Tirso Cruz III, Tita Ethel Ramos, Roselle Monteverde (na anak ni Mother Lily), at ang maybahay ni Bong na si Lani Mercado (na kasalukuyang Mayor ng Bacoor, Cavite) kasama ang kanilang anak na si Gianna Revilla. 6 | FEBRUARY 2019 | CELEBRITY RADAR

‘Tol will serve as Arjo’s first lead role in a movie. He’s really excited about this project kasi pangarap niya maging komedyante. ‘Tol is helmed by Miko Livelo, with the special participation of Jimmy Santos.

‘Lux’ life

Young and pretty FilipinoCandian singer-songwriter Annie Lux has just released her newest single “Flash Flood.” Annie is currently studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, but she will graduate this May and is planning to return to the Philippines to embark on a singing career. She’s learning Tagalog because she wants to be able to sing songs in that language. Annie has a beautiful tone and wide vocal range—she can even hit whistle notes like pop diva Ariana Grande, living legend Mariah Carey and the Philippines’ very own Morissette! While waiting for her to arrive in Manila, you can #spreadthelux, as she says, by following Annie on all her social media accounts. You can also check out all the material she’s released to date via Apple Music and Spotify.

RAYANTHA REIGNS SUPREME

Transfer of power

Celebrity Radar’s own EIC Francis Simeon was named Auditor. Nasa Board of Directors naman sina Mildred Bacud, Joe Barrameda, Eric Borromeo, Roldan Castro, Lourdes Fabian at Rommel Placente.

Rayantha Leigh’s third single titled “Puro Papogi” can now be streamed on all digital music platforms. The ditty is part of her self-titled album under Ivory Music, which is comprised of eight tracks. Rayantha Leigh won New Female Recording Artist of the Year at the 2018 PMPC Star Awards for Music. She has also picked up accolades from foreign groups, like the Outstanding Asia Teen Performer at World Class Young Achiever in Japan and Outstanding Female Recording Artist at the People’s Choice Awards held in November and March of last year, respectively. Rayantha is one of the hosts of Bee Happy, Go Lucky, a teen show on its second season on IBC-13. She is also part of the movie Unang Yugto, starring Lotlot de Leon and Martin Escudero, which is set to hit movie screens nationwide soon.

QUALITY MEN ENTERTAINMENT WITH THE ONE

Businessman and Mr. Gay World-Philippines 2009 Wilbert Tolentino just revolutionized the local gay bar industry when he relaunched THE ONE 690, which can be found at #39 Roces Avenue, Quezon City, in front of the Amoranto Sports Complex. Wilbert is also behind the Apollo World Class Male Entertainment & KTV Bar in Baclaran. Both are bannered by the one-of-a-kind 24 production numbers he conceptualized, which he claims are perfect for the millennials. Wilbert says THE ONE 690 club features Las Vegas-type shows and production numbers that are at par with anything one can see on Broadway (in New York) and at the Moulin Rouge (in Paris). But of course, the hunky and good-looking male models are still the main attractions of the club. “The entertainment bar business has evolved and is in touch with the modern times,” says Wilbert. “We took things at The ONE 690 up a notch with our regular Girls Night Out, which is trending among female millennials. Open-minded na ang society ngayon compared to before. Kaya ginamit namin ang tagline na ‘It’s quality men entertainment. ‘Old school gay bar’ no more!” The good news is, Wilbert is gearing up to put more establishments that will cater to the general public and will definitely add glitter to the field of entertainment this 2019. In the meantime, check out THE ONE 690 in person—or online, via its website http://www.690manila.com.

Daddie’s day The friendly veteran talent manager Daddie Wowie Roxas celebrated his birthday early January with a grand celebration at West Avenue Suites in Quezon City. Siyempre, may kantahan to the max din!

Birthday celebrator, Daddie Wowie (right), blows the candle as his friend, choreographer Lyn Tamayo (left), and his long-time ward, former Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno look on.

Concert King, Martin Nievera, and Manila Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna graced the birthday party of Daddie Wowie.

ast December 17, Lotlot de Leon married Fadi El-Soury. The ceremony took place at 4:00 PM on a Monday, at El Jardin de Zaida—isang scenic events venue na matatagpuan sa San Juan, Batangas.

Lotlot’s biological father Donald Olson was unable to make an appearance because he just had surgery, but his daughters—Lotlot’s biological sisters— Dawn Evans, Donna Bennett and Myria Dufresne were there.

Surrounded by family, friends and other well-wishers, talaga nga namang naging happy day ang kasal ni Lotlot kay Fadi. H

I

t was on October 8, 2017 that Iza Calzado got engaged sa kasintahan niyang si Ben Wintle.

12 | FEBRUARY 2019 | CELEBRITY RADAR

PHOTO OF VICE GANDA IS FROM BUERN RODRIGUEZ’S INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT

K

Bakit? Mas madali kasing maunawaan at sakyan. Ayon sa kanilang opisyal na tagapagsalita, si Ginoong Noel Ferrer, “We exceeded 2017's box office earnings and set a new record as the highest grossing MMFF ever.” As of this writing, this year’s edition of the festival earned P1.060 billion, P10 million more than the 2015 record of P1.050 billion.

-Direk Joel Lamangan

pagsasamang Vic Sotto at Coco Martin?

Ang believers and followers ni Direk Brillante Mendoza, sumugod ba sa mga select cinemas kung saan tinanghal ang “as real as it gets” na pelikula niyang Alpha, The Right to Kill?

Tol, dalawang magkaibang comedies, did they laugh their way to the banks? Tony was the breakthrough star of 2018. Kailangan ng showbiz ng tall young man with acting talent and scorching sexiness. His Pinoy looks balance out all the tisoy leading men in showbizlandia. CELEBRITY RADAR | FEBRUARY 2019 | 13

Sa gusot niya with the immigration, at sa iba pang mga pangyayari sa buhay niya, Tony is still young. He can learn from those mistakes.

‘Yun naman talaga ang main purpose namin for being here sa showbiz. I’m really happy we were able to do something good for the Filipino audience. Pero kahit pa nauna ako sa kanya sa show business, I had to adjust too kasi it was my first time to have a love team partner na hindi artista. The beauty of AlDub is that we work together as a team parati at sinikap naming kilalanin talaga 'yung isa’t isa.” CELEBRITY RADAR | FEBRUARY 2019 | 17

Dahil nga siksik, liglig at umaapaw ang biglang pagsikat ng love team nila, marami ang nagsasabing it was a case of too much, too soon. But we understand that we can’t please everyone, so we would always make it a point to do things that make us happy, both individually and as a team.” “Maine and I are very much OK and we’ve never been closer. Ang best at worst thing about living life in the public eye para sa bagong Mr. Romantiko ay, “Yung pinakamahirap is 'yung usapin ng privacy. As actors, we are seen on television most of the time and hindi maiiwasan na parati kang pag-uusapan or napupuna 'yung bawat galaw mo. It’s so hard to keep things private. Unfortunately, part of being a celebrity is having little to no privacy at all. Ganu'n talaga, eh. On the bright side, dahil public figures kami, we can become role models. We can use our clout to inspire people to be good, do good and spread cheer and good vibes sa lahat.” Mabilis niyang pagtatapat, “Sa ngayon, I’m not seeing anyone. I’m currently busy building my business that I’ll be opening this year. Sa akin, hindi issue if the woman is a celebrity or not. I’m open to possibilities.”

“Maine and I are very much OK and we’ve never been closer. I wouldn’t change a thing. Lahat ng life lessons na natutunan ko at lahat ng paghihirap na nadaanan ko throughout my journey in life, nagpapasalamat ako for them kasi they made me the Alden Richards I am today. As a man, kailangan ko 'yung ganu'ng mga trials, because they molded me into a better person and the best man I can be. Paglalahad ni Alden, “Doing Victor Magtanggol was a gamble because I knew people would make a fuss about it, but it was something that the producers worked so hard to create. And to be honest, it was one of the most beautiful projects I CELEBRITY RADAR | FEBRUARY 2019 | 19

did, kaya hindi ko ipagpapalit 'yung experience ko in making Victor Magtanggol. As for all the bashers, ginawa ko na lang silang motivation to make the teleserye that much better. We knew from the start na we were up against formidable competition, but that reality didn’t daunt us. It served its purpose. We all did our best sa show, and we’re happy sa naging outcome nito.” Puwede rin nilang gawin ni Tom Rodriguez ang isang mapangahas at kakaibang pagmamahalan alaCall Me By Your Name. “Marami. There’s so much to learn, and I’ve been eyeing some darker roles for 2019,” maagap niyang pagsagot. WANT SOME CHICKEN, ‘BAE’-BY? The Pambansang Bae shares one of his go-to chicken recipes with Celebrity Radar readers. TEXT: LEONY GARCIA PHOTOS: ANCHIT PANGAHIN

ecause Alden Richards has one foot in showbiz and another foot in the restaurant business (he owns two branches of Concha’s Garden Café and one McDonald’s franchise), it’s no surprise na naging mahilig at mapili na siya pagdating sa pagkain. Lalo na ngayon, because he’s on the intermittent fasting (IF) diet. Sa totoo lang, ang diet na ito ang dahilan kung bakit kailangan mag-ingat ng Pambansang Bae when it comes to what he puts in his body. Kaya naman he eats more chicken now, kasi swak na swak sa IF diet ang chicken. Chicken is an excellent source of protein, which helps one’s body to build muscle—if one is participating in a strength program—and muscle mass. Chicken breast is also a really good source of niacin, phosphorous, selenium and vitamin B6. Furthermore, depending on how it’s prepared, a chicken dish can be naturally low in sodium, na mainam talaga para sa IF diet ni Alden. Ito ang Cookie’s Peanut Butter Reci-‘Bae’ na Grilled Peanut Butter Chicken, which Alden came up with kasama ang

He’s a young chef at 29, and he graduated from the Center for Culinary Arts, where he gained recognition for his exemplary culinary skills and unique chicken recipes. Katunayan, siya ay tinanghal na Food Hero Asia 2016—a first for the Philippines—dahil dito. At the moment, he’s a consultant for SaladMaster, and he’s also prepping for his own show, which will premiere on the Discovery Channel in June 2019. Bongga si Chef Anton tulad ni Alden, kaya it’s only fitting na meron silang collaboration for the said peanut butter brand. In preparing Grilled Peanut Butter Chicken, you use a method that’s similar to the Thai way of grilling chicken. Kinain niya ang sariling luto with matching white rice. “I’ll just consider this a cheat day na lang,” he says with a smile and wink habang nilalantakan ang chicken meal. Anyone can make this dish, because madali lang naman ito gawin at readily available ang ingredients nito sa grocery stores at palengke. H

Celebrity Travels VICE GANDA

ice’s recent Instagram posts look anything but cheap. His feed is quite a treat for his 7.4 million followers, because it’s where the Unkabogable Star displays his high-end sartorial taste. Also, Vice’s recent posts prove that when he travels, he does so in style. For instance, when he went to Paris, he posed in front of the Gucci store with a dog on a leash. The photo by itself was stunning enough, but Vice kicked things up a notch with a super witty caption that said, “Banal na Aso. Santong Kabayo. Natatawa ako. Eeeeeeeee!!! (aminin mo kinanta mo!)” While there, Vice went on a shopping spree and unabashedly shared a photo where he was shown using his smartphone’s calculator to convert Euros to Philippine pesos. Again, Vice added a witty caption. This time, it was, “‘Yung kada tingin mo ng presyo nagcoconvert ka sa Peso.” At one point, Vice also shared a close-up selfie while in Paris, which proved he enjoyed the weather there. As he said in its caption, “Iba ang hangin dito sa Paris parang may halong bb cream!!! Nakakaprezzzz!!!” A Mama’s boy, Vice fulfilled his mother’s dream to visit Spain, and of course they snapped a family photo in front of the Sagrada Familia—to preserve the moment for posterity, what else? See his caption below. “Last year she said she wished to go to Barcelona to be able to see the Sagrada Familia. My profession deprives me of quality time with my family. So when given the chance i make sure every moment counts and everything creates a wonderful memory. Before this year ends i brought her to where she wished to be. I didnt know we had to book online to get access inside the church. So i asked a friend for help. Unfortunately only one could get inside. And like a parent to a child I am now

patiently waiting for her to finish her ‘field trip’ inside the Sagrada Familia. I AM THE HAPPIEST SON RIGHT NOW!!!! Fantastica is such a huge hit and continues to win in box office. But for me this is a bigger achievement. My biggest so far. To be able to grant my Nanay’s wishes as she gets older is big deal for me. Vice Ganda is accomplished. Tutoy is successful. This is how i end my 2018.” Vice also posted a video saying he felt like such “a BIRD magnet,” because doves flocked to him in droves. He and his family also paid a visit to Montserrat Monastery. Going there, you have two options—the cable car or the rack railway. Vice, his family and friends chose to ride the Aeri de Montserrat cable car, which afforded them the chance to see the Llobregat river and valley. While in Spain, Vice and his entourage bunked at the chichi Hotel Catalonia Barcelona Plaza. Naturally, Vice’s Instagram was filled with all sorts of photos highlighting the comedian’s fashion sense. His weather-friendly clothes were lively in color and lush in material. Since it was cold in Paris and Spain, he made sure to prepare for the weather—sartorially speaking, of course. Whenever Vice was out and about in Paris and Spain, he donned oversized jackets and blazers in various colors, including blue, black, gray and orange. Recently, Vice and his It’s Showtime co-stars went to Hong Kong, where they stayed for two days. Vice had so much fun with Amy Perez, Anne Curtis, Karylle (who brought her hubby, Spongecola frontman Yael Yuzon along for the ride), Jhong Hilario, Jugs Jugueta, Ryan Bang, Teddy Corpus and their director and head Bobet Vidanes. The trip saw all of them bonding over good food in fine restaurants and dancing till dawn. To cap the amazing, stylish experience, they posed for a jump shot while crossing one of Hong Kong’s busy streets. Now that’s what we at Celebrity Radar call a stylish travel photo! H

Celebrity Business

A mother’s secret

Affectionately known as Mother Ricky to those close to his heart, Ricky Reyes shares the secret behind his longevity in the business with Celebrity Radar. TEXT & PHOTOS: FRANCIS SIMEON

It’s still operational, which is a testament not just to Mother Ricky’s business acumen, but also to how hardworking he is. It was around 120 square meters. Hanggang sa nabili ko na rin paunti-unti 'yung sa likuran through the years, kaya 600 square meters na siya ngayon,” the veteran hair and makeup artist says humbly. This second branch of his eponymous salon is one of the 15 Mother Ricky maintains. There used to be 42 branches, but he has since scaled back for a variety of reasons—not the least of which is that he reached a point where he realized that he needed to make his health and wellness a priority too. I realized na it was time to relax,” walang kagatol-gatol na sinabi niya. Pero work, work, work pa rin naman daw ang beauty ni Mother Ricky even at his age, kaya tila second home na niya ang second of the oldest salon branches niyang ito kung saan daw siya matatagpuang nag-o opisina araw-araw. But when asked how old na

26 | FEBRUARY 2019 | CELEBRITY RADAR

talaga siya, naloka si Mother Ricky at sinabing: “Young to know everything in the world.” Ngunit kung partner in life ang pag-uusapan, hindi pala magpapahuli o magpapaiwan si Mother Ricky, because nearly forty years na raw silang dalawa ng kanyang beloved partner in life. Siya ay isang straight guy who is very stable and has his own businesses, too, like him. “Matagal na kami. We’re very private. He’s more on travel business,” sey ni Mother. They even have four adopted children. Their eldest daughter is 44 and their only son is 42. Both have their own families already and reside in the States. Meron ding dalawang teen daughters sina Mother Ricky at ang kanyang partner. Said daughters are 19 and 15, and are still based in Manila. They are also still living with their parents in their posh abode in an exclusive subdivision in Pasig City. Pag ika’y umi-edad na, lahat yan, behind your back na. Mother Ricky and his long-time partner have lived together for so many years now and have children and grandchildren already, but on the controversial issue of same-sex marriage, Mother Ricky’s firm belief and stand is as follows: “Sinabi ng Diyos na ang kasal ay para lang sa lalaki at babae. Sundin na natin 'yun. Ganu'n lang 'yun. People shouldn’t go overboard. Wag 'yung sobra. Kung ano lang ang 'yung makatotohanan.” Napapanood pa rin si Mother Ricky sa television show niya na The World of Gandang Ricky Reyes on GMA News TV tuwing Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, at patuloy pa din siyang tumutulong sa mga batang ulila sa Meritxell Children’s Home sa Marikina City. That’s probably Mother Ricky’s secret to a long-lasting career and, indeed, life: have a compassionate, kind heart and make the world truly beautiful by giving it to those in need. H

made up his mind to be the kind of onscreen partner he knew Kisses deserved. Donny wanted to do his best for Kisses because he thought highly of her. When he first met her, he was struck by how deep a thinker she was, and how much she adored her parents. Furthermore, he knew what it meant for the Kapamilya network to take a chance on their loveteam. Kisses was aware of that too, so they talked it over and agreed to work as hard as they could to prove they were worthy of such a big break. “At first, I wasn’t sure na ako talaga yung pinili. But when it did, I couldn’t contain my excitement. I had so much fun working with Kisses on "Walwal," and being on the "Playhouse" set with her makes me feel that way too. She and I are blessed to work with people who go out of their way to help us be the best we can be,” he says. For her part, Kisses made sure to never show up unprepared. Having taken acting workshops with Director Rahyan Carlos before

she formally entered showbiz, she also knew the importance of rehearsing. “Kaya nag-thothrow lines kaming dalawa ni Donny bago kami sumalang para perfect yung take. Ayaw kasi naming ma-feel ng mga ka-work namin na sinasayang namin yung opportunity na meron kami, not to mention yung oras ng lahat ng tao sa set. There’s also the fact na first teleserye ko ito, so binibigay ko yung best ko kasi this project means a lot to me personally.” “Nagtutulungan kami ni Kisses. I honestly feel that at this point in our working relationship, mas komportable na kami sa mga scenes, sa mga kailangang gawin at mga kailangan sabihin. I love that she’s sobrang game sa kahit ano. For me, that’s what makes Kisses very easy and fun to work with,” Donny says. When you work with someone for as long as they have (Walwal was shot in the first half of 2018 and Playhouse has been going strong on the PrimeTanghali block of ABS-CBN since it premiered last September 17, 2018), it’s only natural that you end up learning a lot of

fter Kisses Delavin placed second in Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7 in 2016, showbizwatchers wondered who she would be paired with in her future projects. At first it seemed like Kisses’ fellow exhousemate Marco Gallo would become her onscreen partner, but that idea was nipped in the bud when they had an off-cam falling out—the exact details of which Kisses never shared with the public. And so the search for her new leading man continued. At one point, the frontrunner was Tony Labrusca of Glorious fame. He and Kisses even did several guestings together to test the waters. But in the end, it was showbiz scion Donny Pangilinan—the eldest son of Anthony Pangilinan and Maricel Laxa—who proved to be the best fit for the role. Their tandem became known as DonKiss and went on to win the hearts of many. The first time they met, however, neither of them had any inkling that they were meant to be. According to Kisses, she first encountered Donny at a go-see. Soon after that, when she turned 18 and marked the occasion with an elegant celebration fit for a princess, he was tapped to be her escort. “Saka ko lang napansin na maganda pala kilay niya,” Kisses recalls with a giggle. Yun yung first impression ko sa kanya at the time.” After Kisses’ debut, she and Donny went their separate ways for a while. As both of them tell it, that made it all the more surprising—albeit pleasantly so—when they found out they would be paired with each other in a movie (Regal Films’ Walwal) and teleserye (ABS-CBN’s Playhouse). In fact, Donny admits it took quite a while for the news to sink in. But when it finally did, he

things about your onscreen partner. Kisses says that it was only when they started taping scenes for "Playhouse" that she realized Donny plays basketball really well. But that wasn’t the only thing she discovered about the young actor, host and musician. “Napanood ko siya maglaro for a scene at sobrang galing niya. I find it funny nga na ini-insist niya na ang pangit nu'ng laro niya that day. Also, I learned na mahilig siya kumain and mag-collect ng shoes. Marami akong masasabing nice things about him, but personally, I like that he’s tall kasi kayangkaya niya ako alalayan, and puwede akong mag-heels tuwing kasama ko siya. Actually, kahit naka-heels ako, ang tangkad pa rin niya compared to me,” she shares. His height aside, Kisses shares that what she really loves about Donny is that he can be very thoughtful. As the saying goes, you know someone really cares about you when they remember important things about you, even if you only mentioned it in passing. As proof, Kisses shared with the Celebrity Radar team this story: “One time, nasabi ko sa kanya na mahilig na mahilig ako sa fish balls. Hindi ako nagpapabili sa kanya or anything like that, ha. Basta kinuwento ko lang sa kanya. Kaya nagulat ako nu'ng bigla niya akong binigyan

Special 'yun sa akin kasi it meant naalala niya 'yung sinabi ko, and of course hindi ko din makalimutan yung fact na nageffort siya bumili ng fish balls, just because I told him favorite food ko 'yun.” (All together now, dear readers: “Aww, nakakakilig 'yun ah! Napaka-sweet naman pala nitong si Donny. Sana all!”) When asked what she wants to say to Donny, Kisses didn’t have any trouble coming up with kind words to say about the young man who made the year 2018 that much more magical. He tries to be chill pa rin, and also mabuti siyang kaibigan, so thank you for that, Donny.”

Donny chimes in with a message of his own for Kisses, as well as a word of thanks for the DonKiss fans who do so much for the two of them. “Kisses, thank you so much for being my inspiration to work harder, to be down-toearth, and to be closer to my fans. Meanwhile, to all the DonKiss fans out there, we appreciate everything you do for us. Salamat for sticking with us throughout everything. Kisses adds, “Sa mga supporters namin ni Donny, it can’t be put into words kasi how grateful we are for everything that you do. Thank you all for making this last chapter of his story, my story and our story happier. I hope you can be part of our future chapters pa rin.” On that note, we at Celebrity Radar think it’s safe to say that no matter what, the story of Donny and Kisses will have many more magical chapters to come—and we can’t wait to read them all. ike many young Filipino men, Miguel Villasis spent most of his life playing basketball. But with the release of his breakthrough single “Date Tayo,” he has officially “changed court,” so to speak. Born Miguel Leonido Villasis on March 10, 1996 in Manila to Andrew Villasis and Ginalyn Villasis, he spent his high school years playing for the Letran Squires in the NCAA Juniors Division. In college, he became one of the go-to point and shooting guards of the Trinity University of Asia’s varsity basketball team. Miguel’s status as a star athlete—not to mention his chiseled physique, killer smile and smoldering eyes—made him popular on campus. Now that he’s in showbiz, his matinee idol looks will definitely get people’s attention. But he’s more than just a handsome face. Once people find out how driven and talented Miguel truly is, that knowledge will make them decide to support him all the way.

Baguhan man sa showbiz, Miguel knows it’s important to be humble, dahil para sa kanya mahalaga ang attitude. “I’m family-oriented. I like being with my friends and I love working hard. Even though I started late in showbiz compared to oth-

ers my age, I’m willing to do whatever it takes to succeed. Being a basketball player, I’ve developed perseverance because I know it takes a lot of time to be good or successful in any field. Sports also taught me that patience is a virtue.” Some have said that their first impression of Miguel is snobby and stuck-up. They have a hard time believing that someone as handsome and talented as he is could actually be a nice guy. But Miguel insists that he’s a humble hottie. “I want people to know me as a down-to-earth guy. I’m approachable. Wala akong ere.”

DREAM ‘DATE’

Miguel’s single “Date Tayo” is composed by rap sensation Rapido. It’s one of six songs on his upcoming album. Miguel had a hand in writing the rest of his material.

“Smooth lang po, kasi it was inspired by my favorite genre of music, which is soulful rap.” Kamusta ang experience while recording the song?

NATURAL NEWBIE

Alam ko na po ‘yon as early as six years old. That was when I watched the movie Isusumbong Kita sa Tatay Ko. Watching it made me want to be an actor.” Miguel knows he can make it in front of the camera. Not only does he look like a matinee idol, but he also thinks like one. Although he hasn’t done any major roles yet, Miguel has already mastered a basic principle of acting—one that guided and shaped the careers of many leading men before him. He may be a newbie, but he’s also a natural. “In my own assessment, I think I can already act because gusto ko natural lang ‘yung pag-arte. Dapat mapakita mo pa rin ‘yung truthfulness nu’ng scene kahit ano ‘yung role mo, kasi sabi nila, ‘There are no small roles, only small actors.’”

Pero eventually, na-realize ko na natural lang naman ‘yung ma-reject, so I learned to take rejections as motivation.” 32 | FEBRUARY 2019 | CELEBRITY RADAR

“I’ll just ignore those who are trying to bring me down, because I’m too busy working hard to achieve my dreams. And also, in this world that I’ve entered, it’s normal for there to be people who will do anything, like making up stories, to destroy your image. After all, I’ve got my family and friends. God is also on my side, so why should I be afraid?” He’s a dreamer, but he’s realistic enough to know that the road to showbiz success is filled with potholes. But he’s determined to give it his all. When asked what advice he would give his younger self, this is what he had to say: “Be yourself. Be patient. Work hard and the rest will follow. After all, hard work always pays off in the end.” H

BLACKPINK Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé spent the last few years making history—and they’re showing no signs of slowing down in 2019.

t can’t be denied that the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK is a force to be reckoned with. Not just in their native Korea, but all over the world too. On June 30, 2018, their single “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” cracked the Top 40 of the US Billboard Hot 100, charting at No. 55. The last time an allfemale Korean group scored a similar feat was in 2009, when the Wonder Girls’ “Nobody” peaked at No. 76 on the same chart. BLACKPINK’s “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” crashed into the US Billboard Hot 100 with 7,000 downloads sold and 12.4 domestic streams. All that paved the way for its appearance on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart, where BLACKPINK made history again as the first K-pop girl group to have one of their songs end up there. Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé make up BLACKPINK, and each of them brings something different to the table. All of them sing, but Jennie and Lisa are the edgier members of the group, if you will. They’re known for being able to rap with the best of them. Meanwhile, Jisoo and Rosé offer a more feminine approach to singing, which complements the other two’s hard-hitting style perfectly. They were put together by YG Entertainment, the same K-pop label that launched the international career of our own Sandara Park in 2009 via 2NE1. They’ve also amassed quite the star-studded Filipino fanbase, with

Kapamilya actresses Ella Cruz, Kim Chiu, Liza Soberano and Sharlene San Pedro being very vocal about their love for BLACKPINK. Ella even flew to Seoul two years ago just to meet the group. When she appeared on Tonight With Boy Abunda to promote her movie Cry No Fear in 2018, she gushed about her encounter with the girls. “When they released a new single, nag-meet and greet po sila, and I flew all the way to Korea just to be part of that event. As in nagtotal fangirling po ako. Naka-on po siya the entire time I was there, so na-record ko po ‘yung buong performance nila. When the time came po for the meet and greet, nakatingin lang po ako sa kanila. Ella’s interaction with the group was quite limited, but for someone who loves them so much, that 20-second encounter was enough to last a lifetime. Soon after she returned to the Philippines, Ella uploaded a video blog detailing her experience at the BLACKPINK meet and greet. It has since been viewed over 1.5 million times. Hashtags member and Ngayon at Kailanman castmember Jameson Blake isn’t that big a fan of the group, but he liked “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” so much that he posted a video of himself and his sister Abigail dancing to it on Instagram. That proves how good the girls’ music really is, because people who hear it can’t help but shake their groove thing, regardless of whether they’re rabid fans of the group or not. Some have suggested that it’s easier for BLACKPINK to reach out to non-Korean fans because most of their members happen to be fluent in English. Jennie studied in New Zealand for a time and Rosé is actually from Australia, so they both speak English quite well. Lisa, who happens to be from Thailand, also speaks some English along with Korean and her native Thai. In an increasingly globalized world where speaking English is an important skill, that gives them an advantage over other K-pop groups who rely on interpreters or translators when traveling abroad. For some of their Filipino fans, BLACKPINK’s music heals. Netizen @blackpinkjoana says that listening

to “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” and their other singles helped her survive a particularly tough time in her life two years ago. She was struggling in school and didn’t have a strong support system to turn to, so she turned to Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé instead. “My schoolwork had piled up. I almost got sick from stress,” reveals Joana in an email to the Celebrity Radar team. “But listening to all their songs and watching their music videos on YouTube made me happy. I was able to pick myself up and soldier on in school. I can say that BLACKPINK is my remedy. Maybe some people will laugh at that, but it’s true. I don’t regret supporting them. They were the first K-pop group I adored, even before they were formally launched, up until now. I think that’s probably the best thing about being a BLACKPINK fan or Blink, the knowledge na they inspire a lot of people, including myself.” “They taught me to not give up on my dreams. They trained for almost six years before they were launched as a group, and their launch kept getting pushed back due to a lot of factors. In one of their previous interviews, they said they reached a point

where they felt afraid that they wouldn’t even be launched at all. They almost gave up on their dreams. Good thing they didn’t, because they taught me and all the other Blinks out there that no matter how many struggles you face, you should never give up. You should always stay positive.” Recently, Jennie released a single of her own titled “Solo,” which she explains is about reveling in one’s newfound independence after the end of a relationship. The release of that track marked the first time a member of BLACKPINK struck out on her own, which made some of their fans a little nervous about the future of their favorite group. But Jennie was quick to allay the Blinks’ fears, reassuring them that her going solo—pun not intended— doesn’t mean the group is calling it quits. She went on to promise that this year will be a big one for BLACKPINK. “We’re preparing something, yeah. It’s a whole new year. We have a world tour coming up which we’re very, very excited about, and we also have a few other things in store for our fans, which I can’t spoil. All I’ll say is that it’s coming, so please stay tuned.” You heard it straight from Jennie’s mouth, Blinks. In 2019, expect BLACKPINK to go big. H CELEBRITY RADAR | FEBRUARY 2019 | 35

I

t has often been said that kissing is the ultimate expression of love.

Dark lips, soft eyes

DARK LIPS, SOFT EYES If you opt to go with striking red lips, do ease up on the eye makeup para naman hindi mag-clash ang mga kolorete sa iyong mukha. Tulad nina Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach at Sue Ramirez, stick to a simple eyeliner, mascara and well-done brows if you’re going for red lips. (Images from @piawurtzbach and @sueannadoodles on Instagram) SCRUB, SCRUB, SCRUB Ok ang matte lipstick for all day wear, pero they make your lips totally dry. (Image from @katarinarodri’s Instagram) PREP THE LIPS For longer-lasting red lips, mag-lip balm ka muna to hydrate your lips at saka gumamit ng lip liner bago ka mag-apply ng red lipstick. Para iwasan ito, use a finger—like your pinky—to wipe away any excess lipstick after applying it para maalis ito sa labi at hindi madamay ang ngipin mo. If you do that, you can be sure that your smile is free of lipstick, just like Kris Aquino’s! (Image from @krisaquino’s Instagram) Red lips, not teeth

Outfitan mo, girl!

KOREAN GRADIENT LIPS Uso ang K-beauty nowadays and gradient lips are super cute! Gayahin ang gradient lips ni Anne Curtis and recreate your favorite K-pop looks in a snap! Gumamit ng concealer and dab it sa corners ng lips. Using your liquid lipstick or lip tint, maglagay ng lipstick sa loob na parte ng labi. Gamit ang daliri o cotton buds, i-blend ang lipstick palabas to get that gradient look. Finish it with lip gloss. (Image from @annecurtissmith’s Instagram) NOT-SO-RED Kung hindi mo masyadong bet ang ultra bright red lips, you can tone down the redness of your lipstick gamit ang pink or gold na lip gloss para mag-warm nang konti ang pagka-red ng iyong labi. If you do it properly, puwedeng maging katulad ng gentle nude red lips ni Catriona Gray—the fourth Pinay to win Miss Universe—ang iyong labi. Bongga, ‘di ba? (Image from @catriona_gray)

Not-so-red

OUTFITAN MO, GIRL! To top it all off, make sure na terno ang red lipstick mo sa iyong outfit. A PRETTY PURSE FOR A

pretty girl Kapuso teen queen Kyline Alcantara opens her heart—not to mention her purse—to our readers TEXT & PHOTOS: JULIAN MAURICIO Kyline spent almost seven years as an ABS-CBN artist before she transferred to GMA-7. She says she’ll always be grateful for the years she spent honing her craft with the Kapamilya network, but she has zero regrets about becoming a Kapuso.

W

hen Kapuso darling Kyline Alcantara arrived at the restaurant in Timog where this exclusive interview for Celebrity Radar took place, she wasn’t able to sit down with us right away. Instead, she had to spend some time greeting her fans, who had gathered in the parking lot to catch a glimpse of their idol. Not that she minded doing that—according to Kyline, seeing her fans always brightens her day. That’s actually why she took to calling them “Sunflowers.” Ayon sa bida ng upcoming musical teleserye na Inagaw na Bituin, the name came from her favorite flower. “One time kasi, nag-hiking ako sa Bicol. Both of my parents grew up there, so I’m pure Bicolana. Anyway, nag-hiking ako and may nakita akong sunflower field. Sobrang ganda talaga ng sunflowers. Feeling ko nga nag-brighten ‘yung araw ko nu’ng nakita ko sila, kasi yellow sila, and yellow is a happy color, ‘di ba? After that, I couldn’t stop talking about it. One day, my father said, ‘Don’t your fans make you as happy as you were when you saw the sunflower field? So why don’t you call them ‘sunflowers’ na lang?’ Sabi ko, ‘Oo nga!’ Kaya ‘yun, I started calling my fans ‘Kyline’s Sunflowers,’ because in line din ‘yung name na ‘yun with the message I want to spread, which is positivity.”

40 | FEBRUARY 2019 | CELEBRITY RADAR

For celebrities like Kyline, the word “blessings” usually refers to a steady stream of projects, which translates into a lot of money. The 16-year-old and her parents have taken pains to invest her earnings wisely, but Kyline has also spent some of her hard-earned money on things girls her age deem necessary. When she sat down with Celebrity Radar, Kyline gamely opened her purse and showed us some of those things. Mas gusto ko itong clear lenses, because I want to see the world properly, eh. Ako, I prefer to show my imperfections sa publiko to show them na tao lang din ako. Ayoko kasi mag-pretend na I’m flawless all the time.”

SPECIAL THANKS TO MOLLY LASIC OF GMA ARTIST CENTER & MANNY VALLESTER

“I decided to transfer because I wanted to explore,” ani Kyline. “I wanted to work with other artists, and siyempre may sariling kultura ang ABS, meron ding sariling kultura ang GMA, and I guess dumating lang ako sa point where I wanted to experience kung ano ang meron sa GMA. I’m very happy that I took the risk, because it paid off in a big way. Thankful ako sa GMA kasi binigyan nila ako ng chance, which is why ang dami kong natatanggap na blessings lately, tulad ng maraming Sunflowers.”

INSTAX CAMERA “I got this five years ago from Tatay Zanjoe Marudo. He gave this to me as a gift during our Annaliza days, when I was still with ABS-CBN. I didn’t ask him to buy me this; nagkataon lang na usong-uso ito at the time, so naisip lang niya na bumili ng ganito for me. It was so nice of him to do that kasi at the time, sobrang mahal pa ng ganitong klaseng camera. Of course I still keep in touch with Tatay Zanjoe and the other people I worked with sa kabilang network, like Mommy Kaye Abad.” MOISTURIZER AND PERFUME “I always have moisturizer in my bag because laging dry ang lips ko. But because maganda ‘yung amoy nu’ng gamit ni Ate Shine, nagswitch ako to Dolce and Gabbana. Strict daw kasi siya when it comes to cues and lines. When we started working together, she was very focused kaya nahiya akong makipagbiruan sa kanya at first. But nu’ng nakausap ko siya, na-realize ko that strict nga siya, but not in a bad way. She’s actually very nice. She’s just very professional kapag nasa set siya, and dapat naman talaga ganu’n ‘yung attitude mo bilang artista. I learned so much from Ate Shine. In terms of acting, she taught me to be professional and to focus. I’m having breakouts kasi lately, kaya I’m not confident at all when it comes to my skin, I swear. Masyado akong nakain ng pagiging self-conscious ko. But si Ate Shine encouraged me to be more confident.” HEADPHONES “I use these wireless headphones whenever I work out. I try to get in as much exercise as I can, but I don’t get to work out as often as I should because I have many commitments. Sinubukan kong mag-gym dati, pero hindi natuloy kasi nga sobrang busy ko lately, so sa bahay na lang ako nagwo-work out. I bought a kettle bell and some weights.”

CELLPHONE “Lastly, this is my phone. It’s an OPPO F9. I feel so lucky na nabigyan ako ng pagkakataon na maging endorser ng brand na ‘to. But even if I weren’t an endorser, I’d use this phone pa rin because sobrang nakakaganda ‘yung camera niya. To the point na when I take selfies using this phone, I look flawless tuloy.” (Laughs.) After Kyline puts her things back in her bag, we steer the conversation towards the upcoming Valentine’s Day. When we asked GMA-7’s new teen queen what her most memorable Valentine’s Day was, she apologized and said she doesn’t have much to say on this topic because she’s never had the chance to celebrate it with someone special. “Wala pa po kasi akong guy na nagbibigay sa akin ng regalo on that day—not in a serious way, ha. Kaya siguro ang most memorable Valentine’s Day ko was when my parents bought me a chair and some chocolates. Ano kasi, nagparinig ako sa kanila that day, tapos kinabukasan paggising ko, I saw the exact same chair and chocolates I wanted sa corner ng room ko. Super memorable ‘yun sa akin kasi super pure lang nu’ng gesture, as in my parents did it to show their love for me, so I really appreciated it. Kasi naramdaman ko ‘yung pagmamahal behind what they did.” Furthermore, she says she has no plans for Valentine’s Day, unless she has to work that day—in which case she’ll spend it on the set of one of her projects. But Kyline says that her parents are open to the idea of her entertaining suitors. Yes, even at her age. I think it’s because she’s also a girl and she knows how I feel. But like any other parent, she reminds me to know my limits and priorities. Sa ngayon, wala pang nanliligaw, pero ‘yun nga, my parents are open. It’s really nice that they’re not super strict about it. More Than a ‘General’s Daughter’

A

Find out which traits make Angel Locsin stand out among her contemporaries TEXT: ALEX BROSAS

ngel Locsin wears many hats— among them actress and philanthropist—but it’s in being a daughter of showbiz that she truly shines. She has a big heart. Name a calamity that hit the country and you can be sure na nauna si Angel na tumulong. Yes, she is a helpful daughter, and many people love her for it. That said, hindi rin madali maging isang Angel Locsin. May kahinaan din siya and she is aware of it. During the press conference for her next teleserye The General’s Daughter, Angel revealed there was a time she almost quit showbiz.

Her recent social media post, in which Angel said, “2015 challenged me. 2016 broke me. 2017 changed me. 2018 opened my eyes. In 2019 I’M COMING BACK.” had netizens intrigued. I’m also human,” pag-amin niya. And she learned something from that period in her life. Wala namang ibang pupuntahan, eh, kaya stop worry42 | FEBRUARY 2019 | CELEBRITY RADAR

“Nawala ‘yung tiwala ko sa sarili ko. I felt like a big disappointment nu’ng time na ‘yon. Hindi ko nagawa ‘yung ini-expect of me. Nawala ‘yun sa akin,” she shared, albeit refraining from going into detail. Angel admitted she went through a phase in her career where she felt “disappointed sa sarili ko.” Trying to be strong but hindi, eh,” she explained.

Dedma. Pag may nangyari, eh nangyari, anong gagawin natin? It was so frustrating for her that she approached management and offered to resign. Hindi ako pinayagan mag-resign,” she revealed. Angel is thankful to her supporters kasi “dahil sa kanila, nandidito ako.

RESPONSIBILITY

Angel was brave enough to admit that in the beginning, showbiz was just a way for her to make money.

PHOTOS BY JD CHING, LALA FLORES & FRANCIS SIMEON

But that changed when she worked with Amy Austria once. Thanks to the veteran actress, she learned what passion is all about. That’s your responsibility as an actress.’ ”

HUMILITY

As a good daughter of showbiz, humility is Angel’s virtue. While some celebrities bask in the titles bestowed on them during their time in the industry, that’s not her style. “Ayoko ng mga title kasi naiilang ako,” she once declared. In fact, she cringed when she saw the plug Dreamscape Entertainment Television made for her para sa The General’s Daughter. H CELEBRITY RADAR | FEBRUARY 2019 | 43

“Ang tagal bago ko siya na-repost,” Angel says of the plug, blushing slightly as she talks. “Paano kasi, ‘she’s back’ yung treatment. Mas nandoon ako siguro kaysa sa ‘she’s back’. I’m very thankful na ganu’n ang ipinakita nilang suporta, pero sa tingin ko hindi ako deserving,” she said. Angel noted that as a celebrity, she enjoys certain perks.

PROFESSIONALISM

In Dreamscape’s The General’s Daughter, Angel plays second lieutenant Rhian Bonifacio, the daughter of a general who was raised to bring down her family’s biggest enemy. But unbeknownst to Rhian, she was set up to make the biggest mistake of her life—because the person she had been tasked to kill is her real father. She is surrounded on the set by A-list actors like Albert Martinez as Brigadier Gen. Marcial de Leon, Arjo Atayde as Elai Sarmiento, Eula Valdez as Corazon de Leon, Janice de Belen as Amelia Guerrero, Maricel Soriano as Nanang Belle Sarmiento, Paulo Avelino as Franco Segismundo, Ryza Cenon as 1st Lt. Jessie de Leon, and Tirso Cruz III as Gen. Santiago Guerrero. Angel couldn’t be more thrilled to work with such talented people.

Angel is particularly excited about getting to work with Eula, who she watched as Amor Powers in the original version of Pangako Sa ‘Yo in the early aughts.

Angel says she’s learning so much about profesionalism from all her co-stars, especially Albert, Janice and Tirso.

Sobrang cool niya. Makikita mo lang siyang naka-boots, leather jacket at naka-motor. Sobra siyang trouper. Nakakamangha dahil marami na siyang naabot, pero down-to-earth pa rin siya at professional when it comes to work.

“Very professional si Tito Pip. Wala

siyang pagod. He’s very energetic sa mga eksena namin. Si Ate Janice, the original teleserye queen. Oo, magaling sila, but I think ang pagkatao nila at level of professionalism nila ay iba, kaya sila tumatagal sa industry.” All those lessons are what she’s applying now that she’s working on The General’s Daughter—which makes her much more than just another actress. She may not like being called one, but she’s truly a queen in this industry. H

ecently, the Celebrity Radar team sat down with actress Gwen Zamora and PBA player David Semerad to talk about what life is like for them as a

couple.

Gwen was last seen in the historical film Goyo as Remedios Nable, a love interest of the titular character played by Paulo Avelino. A transferee from the Kapuso network, mapapanood ang aktres sa isang upcoming show ng ABS-CBN na dapat abangan. Meanwhile, her boyfriend David is a professional basketball player. First love niya ang paglalaro ng basketball. Basketball always excites him. David is widely held to be the epitome of the term “hoop hottie.” Sa totoo lang, bagay na bagay silang dalawa because they have a lot in common. David and Gwen are both excitable, free-spirited and loving. But most importantly, they believe in destiny and the concept that some things are meant to be. They’re not big on coincidences, which is why the number 333 became very important to them.

GUTSY MOVE

David and Gwen first met over dinner nine months ago with friends. They both enjoyed the night, but nothing earthshaking happened. They made small talk and that was it. But even then, they felt the first stirrings of attraction. It was quite chill. Looking back, pakiramdam nila sadyang pinagtagpo sila ng tadhana. But again, nothing happened until Gwen decided to make the first move.

Whole lotta love

“When we were hanging out, whenever we would look at the clock, it would always say three thirty-three,” shares Gwen. For example, there was a time when he had a game in Pangasinan and I went to someone’s birthday party. That night, my car broke down, which made me panic. Sure enough, when I looked at the clock, ang oras three thirty-three.” That’s why they got matching tattoos that say “333.” Gwen’s tattoo is behind her ear while David’s is on his chest.

“After that dinner, she and I would see each other every so often, pero wala lang. Until Gwen suddenly messaged me, saying that she wanted to hang out,” David recalls. Gwen got David’s number from a friend, and she didn’t hesitate to use it. “We were both single at the time, and I was ready to mingle,” she says candidly. “The first time we met, it wasn’t the right time, but when the right time came, I got gutsy and messaged David. I asked him if he wanted to have lunch with me.” Luckily, Gwen’s gutsy move paid off and David said yes. Their first official date took place on October 15. The more they got to know each other, the more they felt they were meant to be. David loved the fact that they were both born in Melbourne, Australia.

THE BEAUTY OF FALLING

Last November 12, Gwen and David went to Australia. Na-meet ni Gwen ang parents ni David. Of the encounter, Gwen says, “I think it went really well. His parents are a lovely couple. His dad is so hilarious. We all went to the beach and a theme park together.” David’s parents love Gwen as much as their son does, maybe more. They’re very happy for their son. His mother even said she can relax now because Gwen promised to take care of David, which made the Semerad family matriarch to tears. Gwen admits to feeling a bit of pressure, but overall she was happy that David’s parents welcomed her with open arms. “Masaya ako kasi OK ‘yung relationship ko with his parents,” she says. “It’s hard kung against sila sa inyong dalawa. In this case, David’s parents were really accepting from day one. Masaya sila kasama. We would cook and do dishes together afterwards, and sometimes the four of us would even sit together in the mornings and have coffee.”

“With Gwen and I, with everything we do, we’re exactly the same. She’s the female version of me,” he says. “She knows Australian culture and I was born and raised in Australia. Her dad is French-Italian. My dad is from the Czech Republic. That means Gwen and I are both half Filipino and half European. When we started hanging out, we couldn’t get enough of each other. We saw each other every single day.”

Sometime near the end of November, the happy couple spent some time in Boracay. Gwen says their sojourn to the island known around the world for its gorgeous sunsets and pristine white-sand beach was really relaxing. According to Gwen, wala silang ginawa kundi mag-bonding, which made them fall even more in love with each other.

For her part, Gwen says, “I really like how outspoken David is. Hindi siya mahiyain. When he talks, he really commands the room. Bibo siya at palabiro, and I like that.”

BETTER TOGETHER

In their case, the beauty of falling is that David is always ready to catch Gwen—and vice-versa.

Even after three months together, they’re still not tired of catering to each other’s needs. CELEBRITY RADAR | FEBRUARY 2019 | 49

After David finishes his basketball practice, Gwen always asks him what he wants to eat for dinner. Sometimes she cooks for him, but most of the time they cook together. He cooks Filipino food more often than she does, though. David inherited his skill in the kitchen from his mother, who hails from Pampanga. David just adds a European twist to whatever he makes. They like watching TV and working out together. Gwen says she has only watched him play live once—and he didn’t even get much time on the court that day. But there was one time she watched one of his games on TV with her mother and their helper, and they all screamed when David trotted out onto the court. David is just as proud and supportive of Gwen when it comes to her showbiz commitments. The only thing he doesn’t like about her job is the long hours. Whenever she’s busy working, David misses Gwen like crazy—to the point that he wants to join her on set just so they can spend time with each other. He hates it when they’re apart because he believes that they’re better together.

MAKING IT WORK

According to Gwen, “Sabihin ‘yung mga ayaw at gusto. Kung pwedeng walang away, mas maganda. Dati, hindi ako ‘yung type of girl who wants to fix things right away. I used to prefer bottling things up until I explode. 50 | FEBRUARY 2019 | CELEBRITY RADAR

But when it comes to this relationship, there’s no time for me to do that. Nakikita agad ni David when something’s wrong, and that’s so refreshing. When I’m not fine, tatanungin niya talaga sa akin kung ano ‘yung problema. Kaya kapag may misunderstanding kami, naaayos agad, there’s no time for it to become a big issue. Everything is solved before we go to bed.” David explains, “Before I didn’t really like talking and I didn’t have patience. But people change and grow. Now, I like it when we talk things over and I’ve learned to be more patient. Gwen and I don’t want to make each other jealous. We’re on the same page when it comes to that, plus a lot of other things. According to the two, when you’re in a relationship, it’s important to be as caring, honest and understanding as possible. That’s how they’re making it work, and they believe that those qualities will help them build a solid foundation for their future as a couple. H

ore and more people are choosing to ride motorcycles instead of cars these days. Even your favorite male celebs have bought themselves bikes and are zooming from one showbiz commitment to the next on what they call “toys for the big boys.” In 2011, Dingdong Dantes received a brand new Ducati Diavel as a gift from fellow Kapuso star Marian Rivera. It would’ve been an awesome thing for her to do under normal circumstances, but the fact that Marian bought Dingdong such a big gift—its base model reportedly costs P1.25 million, and the top-of-theline carbon fiber-clad model costs P200,000 more—says a lot about how much she loved him. No girl would spend that much money on a guy she’s not serious about. When Dingdong and Marian finally did tie the knot in December 2014, Dingdong rode the motorcycle to their wedding. The Ducati Diavel is the second cruiser motorcycle by Ducati after the Indiana, which came out in the late 80’s. FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano star Coco Martin used to post photos of his collection of expensive, high-end cars and motorcycles on Instagram. But according to Coco, Honda is the one motorcycle brand that’s close to his heart. That’s why it didn’t take him very long at all to decide whether he would accept the brand’s offer to be its newest face. Motorcycles have been a huge part of his life since before he was an artista. In college, he moonlighted as a tricycle driver para magkaroon siya ng baon. Yung mga minamaneho niya noon, Honda. Even now that he’s one of the most in-demand men in showbiz, Honda remains Coco’s brand of choice. In the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles, Coco

Some of local tinseltown’s upand-coming leading men, like Derrick Monasterio, Jeric Gonzales, Joshua Colet, Matteo Guidicelli and Ruru Madrid are also motorcycle afficionados. Los Bastardos star Joshua has told Celebrity Radar about his love affair with motorcycles, which began when he and his father, character actor Noel Colet, would go mountain biking together. Eventually both of them moved on to motorcycles. Joshua even uses his to get to work. He says it’s the best way to make sure he’s never late for his commitments. “Noon pa may scooter na ‘yung tatay ko. Pero before that, he and I used to ride around on mountain bikes. Yun ang naging bonding activity naming dalawa before. Recently, I bought my own motorcycle kasi I saw how convenient it could be. Matteo, who first came to prominence as a race car driver, says he has since moved on to motorcycles. When reporters caught up with him at the launch of the Yamaha Mio Aerox 155S last September, he shared with them the reason why. Like Joshua, he

believes motorcycles are the way to go when it comes to solving the everworsening traffic situation in Metro Manila. “Tapos na ako sa car racing. Ngayon, ang bagong hobby ko is riding motorcycles. Big bikes talaga. Yun ang ginagawa kong pampa-relax these days. Matteo has since taken his love for motorcycles to the next level by competing in the BOSS Ironman Challenge. For the uninitiated, BOSS is an acronym that stands for “BMW Owners Society of Saferiders,” and they take on what’s known as the North Loop challenge. It makes riders cover a distance of 1,200 kilometers in a span of only 24 hours on their motorbikes. Jericho Rosales, who portrays Lino in the smash teleserye Halik, is another Kapamilya leading man who loves cruising around the metro on a motorcycle. Like Ryan Agoncillo, Jericho has a group of friends he goes on long bike rides with. It’s more than a need for speed for them. Being on a motorcycle—feeling the wind rushing through your hair as you’re flying down a road at breakneck speed—can give one a sense of control, freedom and peace. For these actors, whose lives are often out of control, to say the least, that precious feeling is why they will never, ever give up their “toys for the big boys.” H

All About Akihiro TEXT: JULIAN MAURICIO

Akihiro Sato used to be a force to be reckoned with in the local showbiz scene. Find out why he took a break from his career in this exclusive interview, and what he’s planning to do next.

W

hat makes a Filipino? If you ask Akihiro Sato, you don’t really need to have Filipino blood coursing through your veins to call yourself a Filipino. According to the Brazilian-Japanese actor and model, sometimes all you need to be Filipino is to have a deep and sincere love for the thousands of islands that make up the Pearl of the Orient Seas—not to mention all it has to offer, like its culture, people and everything in between.

“When I made the decision to pursue a career in the Philippines, I didn’t make it lightly,” he tells Celebrity Radar in an email interview. “One of my biggest reasons for moving there was because I was very curious about the country itself. Even before I came to the Philippines, I heard many things about it from my friends who tried their luck there too. All of them told me it was a beautiful place, so I wanted to check it out for myself. So I bought a plane ticket, packed up my bags and went.” Soon after arriving in the Philippines, Akihiro began booking jobs left and right, which told him he made the right decision. “It was a very big opportunity for me, and I’m glad I took it because I was able to learn a lot about another culture and I also learned a new language. I admit I had some problems, like fake news and the loss of my privacy, 54 | FEBRUARY 2019 | CELEBRITY RADAR

but overall, living and working in the Philippines was a great experience.” Before long, Akihiro became something of a sex symbol, thanks to his chiseled physique. He tells Celebrity Radar that he didn’t mind having people think of him that way, because as far as he’s concerned, it comes with being a model. Also, he adds that he conducted himself with as much professionalism as possible, which he believes kept his sex symbol status from crossing over into vulgar territory. “For me, just to be part of something special with other people like myself made me feel very comfortable, even if I was putting so much of myself on display. I don’t think it’s a bad thing to be a sex symbol. I also tried to be professional when I was working on a project, which is why I think, looking back, that it was all good.”

PHOTOS FROM AKIHIRO SATO'S INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT

Akihiro feels that exact type of love for the Philippines. He reveals that was what prompted him to leave his hometown of Sao Paulo, Brazil, to try his luck here. He had been modeling for quite some time in other parts of the globe, but he says working in the Philippines taught him so many things about himself and his line of work—things he says he might not have learned if he hadn’t come here.

Akihiro’s career was in a good place even before he set foot in the Philippines, but it was only when he started working here that he dabbled in acting as well as modelling. He worked on movies (Handumanan) and TV shows (GMA-7’s Darna, Panday Kids, and SRO Cinemaserye: Moshi Moshi I Love You). Akihiro also participated in Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown, and ended up as the 1st Celebrity Sole Survivor. He also ended up on the Kapamilya network after a while, where he was one of several hosts of the travel show Trip na Trip. “I felt pretty good about all the opportunities I got to do acting. I felt like I grew so much career-wise and even as a person, thanks to those opportunities. But I eventually decided to step back from the scene for a while because of some personal problems. I only returned to TV when I got the invitation to be on Trip na Trip. That show was very fun for me because I got to do things I love, like surf—which is a sport I picked up when I was in Brazil. I became very good at it. Anyway, I was able to join the cast of that show even though I worked for another network before, because I didn’t have an exclusive contract like other actors and models. I was also on good terms with people from all the networks, so I was able to make the most of whatever opportunities came my way.” Akihiro says that at first, he found acting and hosting to be quite challenging. Coming from the world of modelling, where he didn’t have to do much beyond standing still and looking pretty, he was caught off guard by the demands of acting and hosting. But he did his best to rise to the occasion every time he stepped in front of a camera—whether he had to act, host or simply be himself. (He had to do the latter when he landed a spot on Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown, which as we all know is a reality show.) “I’m an adventurous person and I like a challenge, but I admit that acting and hosting were very challenging for me, especially at first. For me, being an actor and host is similar to being a model, but it’s also much harder in some ways. For me, it’s easier to be on a reality show, because it’s not scripted, so you don’t have to memorize anything. All you have to do is be yourself, which is easy for me because I’m quite comfortable in my own skin. But my goal whenever I do anything is always to try my best and get better, so that’s what I did. I ended up learning a lot because of that.”

At one point, Akihiro was considered one of the most popular male models in the Philippines. But at the height of his fame, he disappeared. He retreated from the limelight and stopped accepting projects. After several years, Akihiro finally opens up to Celebrity Radar about the real reason behind his disappearance. He says it was caused by a depressive episode he suffered after breaking up with his ex-girlfriend. “Some people may not know about it, but I got really down after I broke up with her, so I chose to go back to Brazil. When I had recovered from everything that happened, I decided to get my life back on track. I was planning to return to the Philippines to start working there again, but I had some trouble getting a plane ticket back.”

Text: Francis Simeon

While Akihiro and his manager—Jonas Gaffud of Mercator Artist and Model Management—were trying to fix his situation so he could fly back to the Philippines, he received a call from the girl he was dating at the time. That call completely changed his plans. “She called to tell me I was going to become a father, so I dropped everything to take on that responsibility. Now, my daughter is beautiful and she’s become so big too. I’ve even started teaching her some Tagalog words! I call her my ‘Sweet Princess.’ I love her so much!” Akihiro tried to make things work with his daughter’s mother, but sadly it wasn’t meant to be. They broke up after three years, but Akihiro says they’re cooperating to raise their daughter properly for her sake. He adds that he’s still planning to go back to the Philippines soon—maybe for good this time. “After we broke up, I started getting messages from friends and followers asking me to go back to the Philippines. At first I felt slightly confused and overwhelmed, but now I’m excited. I’m happy to know that I have great friends and supporters who are waiting for me to return. I really do want to resume my career there. For sure I will be back in the Philippines this year.” We at Celebrity Radar and all of Akihiro’s supporters can’t wait to see him again!H 56 | FEBRUARY 2019 | CELEBRITY RADAR

eing a mother to Quentin, a special child, comedienne Candy Pangilinan most likely needed extra courage, energy, money, patience and strength to do right by him.

Initially, takot na takot si Candy magkaanak because she feared that she would end up doing something wrong—and she didn’t even know that her son would be born with a condition. Motherhood, for Candy, is not something that can be “learned.” Rather, she believes one will grow into the role over time, especially if one takes things as they come. “Parang doon talaga papunta if you just let it flow. It’s not theoretical, it’s experiential. The experiences and situations you go through will make you the mother that you need to be. At saka every child is different, so every mother is different as well. Matching ‘yan.”

Candy shares that her mother also advised her not to neglect herself in taking care of her child. But I did as she said. I took up badminton and running. I also started learning how to play the drums and guitar.” Candy granted Celebrity Radar this exclusive sit down, in which she gives us all a ringside seat to everything she goes through in raising Quentin. Growing up, napansin mo ba kaagad na special child si Quentin? Paano mo natanggap ang kanyang kondisyon? I didn’t know na iba si Quentin from other kids. He was my first

Being the mother of Quentin has brought Candy much fulfillment. Also, when you see all your child’s little accomplishments and developments, that brings a mother so much joy.” In raising Quentin, Candy hasn’t forgotten what her own mother told her about motherhood. “The best advice my mother gave me was sabayan ko ang anak ko matulog.

But she never told me, until my pediatrician referred me to an eye doctor to have Quentin’s eyes checked. At 9 months, he ended up wearing glasses. The eye doctor also told me to go to a developmental pediatrician, who told me everything. My reaction was, so ano dapat nating gawin? Therapy ba? Go! Let’s do this! Paano ayusin? It was only when we were consistently going to therapy, after seeing other kids there, saka lang pumasok sa pagkatao, puso at utak ko ‘yung katotohanang panghabang buhay nga pala ito. Looking back on my reaction then, maybe I wanted to prove to the doctors that what Quentin has can be cured through therapy. I wanted to defeat the diagnosis. normal kids, I knew that my son is different when compared to them. But he’s still my son. Ano ang paghihirap na dinaanan mo in raising your child? I really can’t call those hardships. Paano ko ba sila ide-describe? Maybe I can just say they’re growing pains? They were all part of what I needed to endure and know as a mother. I think all mothers will agree with me. The journey was and is tough, but it’s bearable. Mas masakit ‘yung nakita ko how other kids and people exclude my son. Discrimination ba ‘yun? But I don’t blame anyone. I don’t blame the other kids, because I know they had a hard time communicating with Quentin, especially during the time when he was nonverbal. But he tried his best to fit in with other kids. Ano ang mga ginawa mo to make Quentin’s journey more bearable for him? I felt Quentin was having a hard time. He’s aware that he’s different. He even started bringing his own toys to parties para hindi siya ma-bore at pilitin niyang isiksik ang sarili niya. I explained his situation to people. I wasn’t asking for sympathy, just a little understanding. I explain to him how to deal with people. Do I cry? Sometimes, out of tiredness and because I worry about what Quentin’s future will be like, but there are times I cry because I’m thankful for his accomplishments and developments.

One time, he caught me crying and asked what was wrong. I tried to hide the tears kasi hindi maganda na nakikita niyang umiiyak ang mommy niya. But he persisted. So I told him, “Someone did something very bad to us.” He replied, “Did you do something bad?” When I said no, he said, “Then you have no problem.” Napangiti ako. Oo nga naman, ‘di ba? Kung wala kang ginawang masama, wala kang problema. Madalas akong napapangiti ng anak ko. Ang simple lang niya mag-isip. Wala siyang masamang tinapay. He taught me that life is a gift. We take so many things for granted. We take for granted that we can communicate with others. We take motor skills for granted. I saw how hard Quentin tried to develop those, which was when I realized it’s a gift. Life is simple. We are the ones that make it complicated. Also, because of my son I learned to be kind and be more patient and understanding. Lastly, as I said, I learned to pray. I am also thankful for my family, because they’re always there for me. My friends are also there and we have a prayer community. My spiritual mentor helped me to realize that I should choose my battles wisely, and when the battle is tough, give it to God. Let Him fight it for you.

Kinailangan ba ang extra courage in raising your child? Yes. Kaya I always pray. I never prayed this much before I had Quentin. I think all mothers pray harder because of their children. Kasi kung hindi ka magdadasal mauubos ka. I had no one to rely on except God. My only hope was and is still is the Lord. I believe everything that happens to my son is a miracle and his accomplishments and developments are all by God’s grace.

Paano mo sinasalag ang negativity? Dati affected talaga ako. Nang-aaway pa ako dati. Ngayon, nothing. I also weigh comments if they’re helpful. I know in my heart that I have no bad intention for anyone, kaya I just let things be. So as much as possible, I do nothing. Yes, there are times when you have to confront someone for them to stop. Kaso sayang ang oras at energy. Ang dami kong mas dapat asikasuhin. Kaya I really try to choose my battles. Minsan kasi nagiging emotional ako and doon ako natatalo. Pero kung hindi ko naman ikakamatay or mababawasan trabaho ko, I let it be. Favorite ko yung kantang ‘yun ng the Beatles, ‘yung “Let it Be.”

How do you bond with Quentin? We eat, go on road trips, watch videos, swim, talk—basically, we

Jaime Fabregas’ Three Fs Over the course of his career, the “Ang Probinsyano” star has learned a lot about life, love, and everything in between—and he shares it all with Celebrity Radar in this exclusive interview TEXT & PHOTOS: JOSH MERCADO

A

t this point in his life, Jaime Fabregas is all too aware of his mortality. He even admits that he’s afraid of death and dying. But he’s determined to not let his fears rule his life, which he’s living to the fullest. He’s still active in showbiz as a castmember of the hit Kapamilya teleserye “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” and in his downtime, he enjoys the occasional beer while binge-watching something on Netflix. As the Celebrity Radar team sits down with Jaime, he leans back and tells us his story. “I’m just a regular person trying to earn a living,” he begins.

“Sobrang iconic ‘yun. Sobrang saya ng experience ko working on it. Direk Eddie Romero saw me in a play and asked me to be part of it. Eight o’clock in the morning ang calltime sa Majayjay, Laguna. Siyempre, wala pa akong kotse noon. Susunduin daw ako sa may Magallanes at four in the morning. Direk Eddie told me to have breakfast and prepare to work very hard. So I did. Kinunan ako alas seis na ng hapon. Baptism of fire ‘yun, at buti nga I had fun kasi if I didn’t, hindi ko itutuloy.”

FAME

Kasi ang feeling ko is that lahat tayo, we’re products of our past. Who we are now is a result of what we were before and what we went through since then. No one just showed up without a past.

Jaime still has fond memories of his first-ever TV gig, ang “The Fabulous Gamboa Show” na umere noong 1969. “It was fun. Bata kami lahat. Malakas ang energy,” he recalls fondly. Jaime also treasures his memories of working on the awardwinning Ganito Kami Noon…Paano Kayo Ngayon?”—which was actually the first film he ever starred in. 62 | FEBRUARY 2019 | CELEBRITY RADAR

On that day, they eat out or watch a movie as a family. He has tried his best, but he says he doesn’t consider himself an outstanding father because he just does his job. His advice to other fathers is simple— give your children the room they need to learn and grow on their own, but be there for them should they need your help.

FUTURE

Jaime has been in showbiz for decades and has played lots of different roles. Even so, he’s showing no signs of slowing down. That’s remarkable, since some of his contemporaries have begun to scale back on their work. He says some people have broached the idea of retiring with him, but he always brushes it aside.

One of those bands was a jam band called Genesis. Being a musician opened up a lot of career opportunities for him. “I like to think of myself as an open book, but a lot of people don’t know that I was in a band noong araw. I used to play guitar and sing. I don’t like attending showbiz gatherings.” Instead, Jaime prefers to stay at home

on his days off and make the most of his account on Netflix. “Sa Netflix kasi, marami kang puwedeng pagpiliian. I enjoy watching documentaries.”

FAMILY

Jaime was married twice. Annulled. He says candidly that he’s not a good husband as other men may be, but adds that doesn’t define him as a person. “Para sa akin kasi, a relationship should be based on mutual respect. Meron akong sinasabi na love, without compassion, kindness or respect is just another fourletter word. He tried to raise them all right, and it seems he succeeded.

When asked for advice to the younger generation of actors, Jaime says the following practically in one breath. “You have to be generous. Do not be selfish, kasi acting is reacting. Be open. Value criticism. ‘Wag kang magalit if people criticize you. Pakinggan mo sila. Then if you don’t agree, you explain. Mag-aral ka. Manood ka ng mga pelikula. Lastly, always trust your instincts.” Jaime is thankful for the longevity he has enjoyed, and chalks it all up to his two life mantras: “When I remember, I pray” and “If you want to be happy, never ask yourself if you’re happy or not.” H CELEBRITY RADAR | FEBRUARY 2019 | 63

LEARN FROM A

Queen

This Valentine’s Day, find out what Catriona Gray can teach you about life, love and finding your soulmate despite the odds. TEXT: DJ LAILA CHIKADORA

M

I go on the air five days a week, Monday to Friday, from 5:00 to 6:00 AM. First of all, kahit madalas tayong bigo sa pag-ibig, kahit madalas tayong nadadapa, hindi tayo dapat sumuko. There’s always something to be learned from every significant other you have, kahit hindi nag-work out ang inyong relasyon. She only made it to the Top 5 while the title went to Puerto Rico’s Stephanie del Valle. Inamin niya sa isang Instagram post soon after na she felt bad, but she didn’t let that get her down for long. From there, pinaghandaan talaga niya ang Miss Universe 2018 pageant. I heard na she handpicked her own team and spent months doing research and working on her pasarela, among other things. Don’t give up on love.

Go lang ng go, friend! At kung nabigo ka man sa love, ‘wag kalimutan to look for the silver lining. Tignan mo itong sinabi ni Catriona sa Q&A portion ng Miss Universe 2018 pageant: “I work a lot in the slums of Tondo, Manila and the life there is poor, and it’s very sad. And I’ve always taught myself to look for the beauty in it, to look for beauty in the faces of the children, and to be grateful. And I will bring this aspect as a Miss Universe to see situations with a silver lining and to assess where I could give something, where I could provide something as a spokesperson. And this, I think, if I can teach people to be grateful, we could have an amazing world where negativity could not grow and foster, and children would have a smile on their faces.” Just because it’s a failed relationship does not mean that it was an ugly relationship. Isipin mo na lang na it was good while it lasted, pero meron talagang mga bagay sa buhay natin na may expiration date, teh. Wag mong panghinayangan ang isang relasyon na hindi happy ang ending, because you learn something from each failed relationship. Bukod doon, failed relationships can actually make you stronger. Sa madaling salita, please don’t be afraid to love. H

Pneumonia is problematic In this month’s column, Dr. Sinchongco explains why people should take pneumonia more seriously. TEXT: MELISSA SINCHONGCO, M.D.

I

t’s unfortunate that most people don’t know how serious pneumonia can really be. In fact, most ignore this disease until it’s too late. Pneumonia is common during both the rainy and summer seasons. It is characterized by inflammed lungs due to a bacterial or viral infection, in which the air sacs of the lungs become filled with pus and may solidify eventually. Maaaring maapektuhan ang left and right lungs. There are three different types of pneumonia, which are classified by severity. Double pneumonia occurs when both of a person’s lungs are affected. If only one lung is affected, it’s known as single pneumonia. If only a certain part of a person’s lungs—and not the entirety of even one lung—is affected, then it’s the kind called lobar pneumonia, which usually has an acute progression. Classically, there are four distinct stages of pneumonia, and they are as follows: congestion, consolidation, hepatization and resolution or complete recovery. Signs and symptoms of pneumonia may include chest pain, confusion or changes

66 | FEBRUARY 2019 | CELEBRITY RADAR

in mental awareness (only in adults age 65 and older), coughing, fatigue, fever, sweating and shaking chills. Of course. The kind of germs that can cause pneumonia are usually inhaled. People often have small amounts of germs in their nose and throat that can be passed on through coughing and sneezing. When you cough or sneeze, you launch tiny droplets of fluid containing germs into the air, which someone else can end up breathing in. If those germs are the kind that cause pneumonia, if they are inhaled by someone else, there’s a possibility that that other person will also get pneumonia. Kadalasan mga sanggol at mga may edad 65 pataas ang tinatamaan nito, but the truth is that anyone can get pneumonia, especially when his or her

immune system is weak dahil sa pagod at puyat. Poor eating habits and hygiene can also weaken one’s immune system, increasing the chances that one can get pneumonia. The good news is that nagagamot naman agad ang pneumonia kapag naagapan. Antibiotics may be prescribed, depending on the severity of a person’s condition. Sometimes, it may take as long as three weeks’ worth of medication to rid one’s body of pneumonia. But don’t take anything at all without first consulting a physician. You should also drink lots of fluid to help bring up phlegm and loosen secretions. Getting plenty of rest will help too. Palagi ka rin dapat maghugas ng iyong kamay at uminom ng Vitamin C. Malaki ang magiging epekto nu’n sa kalusugan mo, and the chances of you coming down with a disease that’s as problematic as pneumonia will be lowered. H

PIG (1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019)

Magiging mas mabuti ang iyong kapalaran ngayong buwan compared to last month.
