Context A night of entertainment, music and dance in Glasgow during March being arranged and hosted by students I’m acquainted with. All proceeds from the event go to the Wildhearts Foundation charity. Brief or Tasks Create an easy to produce, and effective A3/A2 poster that promotes the night of entertainment at Independent Bar, in Glasgow. Communication is key, as is an alternative take on the traditional gig poster. Copy must include (You have permission to refine and tighten at your discretion): “ Enjoy a night full of entertainment which will be hosted by DJ LANDA & Riaz Reports and a number of live acts will be on through out the night to keep you entertained with different types of entertainment ranging from live DJ LANDA OldSkool NewSkool HipHop RnB Bhangra , drummers, dancers and rappers all coming together in correlation for a good cause and bettering the lives of others. Make sure you don't miss it!!! Be There Or Be Square!!!!!!!!!! All tickets cost £3 and all the money collected at the door and raised on the night will automatically go to the Wildhearts Foundation Venue: Massa (Next to Cirque NightClub Queen Street) Independent Bar Glasgow Queen Street 21st March Independent Bar Glasgow Queen Street, 21st March ...:::Artful Funk:::... Maria Reem Kirsten Salum Taz Henna”
Preparation/Research suggestions Look into effective colour combinations and artwork which is easy to produce and legible at a variety of scales and formats. Poster will be printed cheaply through an inkjet/laser printer on most probably 80gsm stock, consequently consider ink coverage and efficiency of colour plates. In order to create a higher likelihood of consistency Evidence – for this project students should submit A3 Poster Visualisation mock-ups of extended application and contextualisation. Development and reflection on Extended Practice blog.
