Traditional CAMP
Her best summer ever starts here! Camp provides the opportunity for every girl to grow independence, build self-confidence, meet lasting friends, and face real-life challenges in a friendly and positive environment. On Sunday, girls will immerse themselves into camp life by settling into their lodging, meeting their bunkmates, and choosing their activities for the week. On Friday, girls will take home a celebratory photo of the friends they’ve met, their badges/fun patches, and a week’s worth of memories that will last a lifetime. (For girls entering the 2nd grade up to 10th grade).

CORE ACTIVITY = relates to a badge the girls would like to earn in an activity that a camper has a high interest in, such as survival. It also includes every campers’ swim time.
ELECTIVE = an opportunity to try something new that may or may not be part of her core program. Electives are also the time when trail rides are assigned.
Add a Horse Trail Ride For an additional $35 fee, a camper can pre-register to participate in one horseback riding lesson per week of camp with a horse suited for her experience. Trail riding is weather dependent, if it is raining we try to reschedule the ride; however, if we are unable to ride, girls will still get an opportunity for a real horse experience. No refunds.

Counselor in Training (CIT)
CIT I Program Dream of being a camp counselor one day? Our CIT program (grades 10-12) is a two year program, where girls can:
> Develop leadership skills > Help younger campers > Gain an understanding of camp operations > Shadow camp staff > Support camp activities like arts, climbing tower, barn, etc. > Work on a camp service project with the CIT team > Create and present an innovative camp program
CIT’s won’t do activities like a traditional camper, but will have swim time each day, quiet time in the evening, AND a chance for an overnight hike or canoe adventure to bond with other CITs. To be eligible for the program, an interested girl must be a second year Senior Girl Scout or in the 10th grade. No prior resident camp experience is necessary. Space is limited.

CIT II Program
Growing from her time as a CIT I, a CIT II will:
> Support a camp activity that she is passionate about > Work with an activity counselor to learn how they plan > Help lead small parts of the activity > Shadow administrative staff to grow operational knowledge > Work with the other CIT II’s to create the final all-camp activity > Opportunity to develop and lead an elective for younger campers

CITs can choose between a 3 week, 4 week, or 7 week experience.
To be eligible for the CIT II program, girls must have successfully completed the CIT I program, and have been recommended into the program by the Camp Director. CIT II requires the girls to attend all seven weeks of resident camp in addition to the week of Pre-Camp.
*Pre-camp training is required for all CIT’s at Camp Small Valley from June 5- June 9.

Ranch CAMP Our Ranch Camp is designed to provide a traditional camp feel with a progressive, western equestrian focus. Ranch staff ensures every girl receives the same level of quality and care that she deserves. On Sunday, each camper’s skill is tested and each girl will be assigned her very own horse for the week. Ranch Campers will saddle up for mounted and theory lessons to become well rounded in western horsemanship. She will care for the horse and Ranch Camp’s 4 Levels ride daily. (For girls entering the 6th - > White (Beginner) 10th grade.) > Yellow
Every camper has
(Novice) > Blue (Intermediate) > Red (Advanced)
the chance to test out of the White Level by taking a riding and written test. If a rider passes, they will automatically graduate to the Yellow Level, which requires one week of participation. To graduate each level, a girl must pass a riding and written test. Both the Blue and Red Levels require two weeks of participation during Ranch Camp in the same summer camping season.

Wrangler In Training (WIT) Once a Ranch Camper completes all four levels of riding, she is eligible for our WIT I program to learn the fundamentals of program planning, basic equine first aid, barn operations and support Ranch Campers. *Pre-camp training is required for all WIT’s at Camp Small Valley from June 5 - June 9. Towards the end of her WIT I experience, she will lead one theory/one mounted interactive equine presentation. With successful completion of this program and a recommendation, a WIT will graduate onto a WIT II with further opportunity to work towards becoming a Ranch Hand in the future.

WITII Does a Girl Scout want to step up and take the lead to teach her horsemanship skills to Ranch Campers? Then WIT II is where she needs to be! After completing the WIT I program (70%+ on project and 80%+ on overall performance) girls can graduate to the WIT II program to grow leadership skills and demonstrate instructor qualities directly to campers. WIT II, is the stepping stone to the Ranch Hand position (Jr. Counselor). A WIT II must participate in both sessions of Ranch Camp—within the same season—to complete the program (80% or higher on project and 80% or higher on overall performance).
WIT II FEE: Both Small Valley and Archbald: $750 (WIT II must attend all seven weeks of camp to participate.)

Troop Adventure Camp (TAC) Bring your troop (grades K - 12) for the weekend and get a taste of what a week-long, sleep away adventure would be like! A patch will be given to each girl member that attends. Not sure what happens at camp? Check out the posting on our Event Calendar for a full schedule! Please note: Due to meal times - grace and flag ceremonies are not offered during this weekend. However, please feel free to teach a grace or two to your campers to continue the time honored tradition at each of our meal times.
