American Business Council Hosts 3rd Annual American Business Forum, I.D.E.A.S. DUBAI – OCTOBER 29, 2014 The American Business Council of Dubai & the Northern Emirates (ABC) brought together business leaders from the U.S. and the U.A.E. to participate in the third annual American Business Forum, I.D.E.A.S. (I.D.E.A.S.), designed to Identify Define Execute Analyze and Strengthen regional business opportunities, on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. I.D.E.A.S. challenged leaders to think critically about the American competitive advantage in the Middle East and how to leverage the U.S.-U.A.E. bilateral trade relationship. Business leaders were able to capture these insights to aid their own organizations and harness potential synergies going forward. Moderated by Antonio Carvalho, Partner at Oliver Wyman, the executive panelists’ dialogue covered a range of topics including: utilizing Dubai as a hub; planning for regional security and health concerns; preparing for EXPO 2020; and examining diversity and inclusion. The panel cited many factors that contributed to their accomplishments, such as how the U.A.E. has employed farsighted leadership that is open to working with international companies and is committed to infrastructure and the best technology, evidenced through its Smart City vision and commitment to the space program.
