2022 may have been the year where sustainability and innovation become front and center for all consumers A core driver of business productivity and growth in the 21st century The public’s heightened expectations for companies have dovetailed with the growing interest of investors in environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors, which include diversity and inclusion, (D&I).

At AmCham Dubai through the Sustainability and Innovation Committee we are working to help define responsible business as the new normal and to support the business model that has sustainability and innovation, and inclusivity at its very heart To that end, this year we will celebrate and recognise, outstanding sustainability and innovation initiatives across the Middle East.

The UAE has always been a front runner in spearheading change and building a tolerant, modern society. The country is committed to cementing its role on climate change in the region and taking this key economic opportunity to drive development, growth, and new jobs The AmCham Dubai Sustainability & Innovation Awards 2022 reflect the leadership’s vision for the count.

The Sustainability and Innovation Awards honor those who have made sustainability an integral part of their business practice For profit and not for profit organizations of all sizes submitted nominations to reward team members and gain exposure for the organization, its initiatives, and the exemplary accomplishments of its leaders as they work to reduce their impact on our environment.

Sustainability Award UAE

This award will go to the organization that can best demonstrate the harmony between profitability, social commitment, and environmental concern The winner will be the business that gives evidence on how it positively impacts local and/or global society and environment while using its own resources economically. Judges will look for evidence of how the sustainable business has reduced any negative environmental impacts and ethically addressed socio economic implications across the value chain Additionally, judges will consider how the business has improved one or more of the following areas: customer perception, staff engagement and treatment, commercial performance, and environmental stewardship

Innovation Award UAE

Innovation is crucial to the continuing success of any organization. Whilst often linked to technology this award recognizes innovations in any part of a business There is also a tendency to err towards radical and disruptive innovation, however, we are also keen to recognize incremental innovation in businesses committed to continuous evolution The submitted innovation could impact a product or process and may have taken place in any area of your business The project/innovation must be established, sustainable and its impact measurable.

SME Award of Merit MENA

This award recognizes an organization that brings new ideas to life and rewards innovative ideas, career achievements, and the work you do on behalf of others The SME Award of Merit will go to a Regional SME from the MENA region that can best demonstrate a culture of Sustainability and or Innovation The winner will be the business that gives evidence on how it positively impacts local and/or global society and environment while using its own resources economically Judges will look for evidence of how the sustainable business or product innovation has reduced any negative environmental impacts and ethically addressed socio economic implications across the value chain. Additionally, judges will consider how the business has improved one or more of the following areas: culture, customer perception, staff engagement and treatment, commercial performance, and environmental stewardship.

This award will be announced in partnership with FedEx Express, showing support for the SME business community FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, continue its ongoing commitment to supporting the growth of small and medium enterprises (SME) in the UAE through AmCham Dubai's SME Business Builder series, a thought leadership and knowledge sharing platform whereby SMEs to interact with industry and subject matter experts for solution oriented discussions that benefit their business

A successful Awards Nomination should tell a great story. Effectively communicating your message within the entry includes:

Write strong descriptions that help judges understand what makes you better, unique, and different in your space. Clear, concise, and easily understood explanations and descriptions of your product or service.

Write it so your mother can understand it.

Articulate your message in a way where, more people than your organization’s internal experts understand what you are attempting to convey

Use additional resources to help enhance your chances of winning.

Make sure your website is easy to navigate and to learn more about what you do Is there a clear message about the nomination? Does it showcase its purpose, benefits, and value clearly? Be sure that the URL you want our judges to see is visually appealing and has a clear theme

Most successful nominations have videos that clearly showcase and explain their product or service as well

JUDGING MODELOUR UNIQUE

Our industry awards programs rely on industry leaders who volunteer to read, score and judge nominations. But what is unique about our model is that judges not only score and rank nominations, they also have the opportunity to share public and private feedback so that winners can maximize the third party acknowledgement of their performance and all nominees can reflect on how they can improve their overall approach to the market.
