As we bid farewell to a remarkable year, I am thrilled to share our collective achievements and milestones. The AmCham Dubai Sustainability Committee's unwavering dedication has been instrumental in preparing us for COP28, fostering insightful programs, and facilitating committee meetings that kept us abreast of critical developments. In addition to our COP28 readiness, I'm delighted to announce the election of a new Board of Directors for the next two years—a pivotal step in steering our course towards continued success. We extend a warm welcome to our new ambassador, Martina Strong, U.S. Ambassador to the UAE, whose expertise and leadership will undoubtedly enrich our endeavors. Throughout the year, our committees and members have actively engaged, contributing to a vibrant and dynamic community. AmCham Dubai, along with the Sustainability Committee, organized the Kick-Off to COP28 event featuring Global Chief Sustainability Officers (CSOs) from leading companies such as Akin, 3M, GE, and Cisco. Key takeaways emphasized the pivotal role of ESG and sustainability, aligning solutions with community needs, mandatory data disclosure, and the importance of global collaboration in driving sustainable practices.
AmCham Dubai actively connected the U.S. and U.A.E. for a greener future, hosting the U.S. GreenTech Delegation to U.A.E. Networker Event in May 2023. The December 2023 event saw AmCham Dubai leading the largest US business delegation to ever attend a COP, focusing on purposeful action for climate solutions.

AmCham Dubai highlighted its engagement with the World Climate Summit – The Investment COP - 2023, held alongside COP28. The summit showcased over 2000 high-level experts discussing decarbonization, clean energy deployment, carbon markets, and financing mechanisms. AmCham Dubai stressed the importance of global collaboration in envisioning a sustainable future.
COP28's Consequential Outcomes: Marty Durbin, Senior Vice President of Policy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the historic significance of COP28, emphasizing the enormous commitments announced during the conference. On 10 December 1971, just eight days after its founding, the UAE flag was raised for the first time at the United Nations. Adnan Pachachi, then the UAE Minister of State, pulled on the rope to raise the flag at the UN headquarters in New York. He had flown there just hours after the UAE’s formation on December 2 to submit an application for the country’s membership to the UN. After a week of talks, the Security Council and the General Assembly approved.

American Brands Forum
Workshop with DED Officials 20 September 2023, Abu Dhabi
American Brands Forum, in collaboration with the U.S. IP Attache, recently held a training workshop for Abu Dhabi DED inspectors. The focus of the workshop was to equip the inspectors with the knowledge and skills needed to differentiate between genuine and counterfeit products of American brands. The session also shed light on the impact of counterfeiting on the national economy and job creation. Representatives from prominent American brands such as Apple, GM, Duracell, P&G, and Nike were present at the event. Business Visa Appointment Program AmCham Dubai is pleased to partner with the U.S. Mission to the U.A.E. to provide business members access to expedited business visa appointments via the Business Visa Appointment Program (BVAP).
The Procedure Have you tried to secure a Non-Immigrant Travel Visa for business travel but there are no appointments that meet your requirements?
Follow these steps for an expedited appointment.
Through BVAP, the employees of AmCham Dubai’s business member companies who have an evident and urgent need for business travel to the United States will have the ability to request for an expedited appointment.

Contact membership@amchamdubai.org for the letter template and have your HR department complete the letter for Employment Verification & Business Case for the expedited appointment. And return the letter on your company letter signed and stamped to: membership@amchamdubai.org, and director@amchamdubai.org

Go to http://usvisa-info.com Click on Sign-in and make a new Account from there follow the procedures as the site will walk you through it.
STEP 4
After finishing all the relevant application details you will be asked if you are an AmCham Dubai Business Member. If you are an AmCham Dubai business member or an employee of the business member click the confirm button.

Select your appointment timing.

Once we receive all your verification documents AmCham Dubai will issue an original letter that must be picked up from our office and accompany you to your VISA APPOINTMENT.
Only Consular officers can determine visa eligibility, AmCham Dubai facilitates this service at the discretion of the US Consulate.
Participation in BVAP may require separate supporting documentation & members are in no way guaranteed an appointment or the successful issuance of a non-immigrant visa. AmCham Dubai strongly encourages applicants to apply for required visas well in advance of their intended date to allow for adequate processing time for applications.
