The CLDP’s work in the U.A.E. involves providing expertise to government agencies on the development of the many commercial laws currently under consideration, such as the Companies Law, Insolvency Law, Arbitration Law and Competition Law. The roundtable discussion highlighted the commercial law development process here in the U.A.E. with a focus on the interests and priorities of the private sector and their clients. Participants included representatives from Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P., Chadbourne & Parke L.L.C. and Afridi & Angell. Ramsey B. Jurdi, President of the ABC and attorney at Chadbourne & Parke L.L.C. remarked: “The CLDP provides great insight into the status of legislative reform in Dubai and the U.A.E. and is a good source of information for our clients and businesses.
