EFEKTIVITAS PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF DENGAN PERMAINAN “BATU GUSALE” PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPS DI SD Beja Sutrisna SD Negeri 1 Purwoharjo Banyuwangi Abstract: One of problem that happened in SDN 1 Purwoharjo where this research executed is related with the study process. Pursuant to result interview with teachers in SDN 1 Purwoharjo, known that teachers activity in study use the discourse method and more amount student do the duty individually than cooperating in group learn. Method used in study oriented by teacher. Empirical data pursuant to observation result indicate that the average value test of student in grade IV A first semester on 2010 / 2011 for the subject of Social Studies is 6,7. From 40 student, abysmal or complete of KKM equal to 7,0 is 27 student ( 67,2%), while 13 student ( 32,5%) still not yet complete. To overcome the methodological problem, specially at Social Studies, researcher applying of cooperative learning Read, Write, Draping, Test, Wrong, and Discharge (Batu Gusale), that representing researcher idea by relate at sintaks of cooperative learning. This game developed of fourth phase of sintaks model the cooperative learning, that is guide the group work and learn. Thereby the study process more centre on student (student oriented). Target of this research is to know the effectiveness of applying of cooperative learning with the "Batu Gusale". While target specially is to know the difference of result of learning student following cooperative learning with "Batu Gusale" and the discourse method at subject of IPS grade IV of Elementary School. PENDAHULUAN Berdasarkan hasil observasi pada dokumen daftar nilai Ujian Akhir Sekolah siswa kelas VI, diketahui bahwa nilai rata-rata untuk Mata Pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial selama tiga tahun terakhir (2008 s.d. 2010) adalah 6,4. Prestasi belajar ini masih berada di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) yang telah ditetapkan sekolah tersebut yaitu sebesar 7,0. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata Standarisasi Hasil Belajar (SHB) siswa kelas IV A semester 1 tahun pelajaran 2010/2011 untuk Mata Pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial adalah 6,7. Dari 40 siswa, yang sudah tuntas atau melampaui KKM sebesar 7,0 adalah 27 siswa (67,2%), sedangkan 13 siswa (32,5%) masih belum tuntas. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan guru-guru di SD Negeri 1 Purwoharjo, diketahui bahwa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran pada umumnya guru masih menggunakan metode ceramah dan siswa lebih banyak mengerjakan tugas secara individu daripada bekerja sama dalam kelompok belajar.
