BSc (Hons) Food and Consumer Science

The Food and Drink industry is a major contributor to Scotland’s economy – it’s worth around £14 billion annually. The industry needs 19,000 new recruits by 2024 to meet the needs of the food manufacturing sector.

This Food and Consumer Science degree will teach you practical skills to help you uncover: • The nutritional requirements of a person throughout their lifespan. • Consumer food choices and what drives them. • The quality and safety requirements for manufacturing foods. • How to innovate and make healthy, delicious foods ensuring they’re safe to eat. • How to improve products and processes to make the food industry more efficient and sustainable.
