This Mental Health Nursing degree provides you with a thought-provoking and contemporary study programme, carefully crafted to equip you with the knowledge, skills and experience you need to practice as a mental health nurse.

Graduate with an honours degree after only three years as you explore a fascinating range of topics as you take a journey to become a reflective, self-aware and person-centred practitioner.

A Mental Health Nursing degree is a great springboard for exploring opportunities in mental health and clinical areas.

This degree makes you extremely mobile. Examples of fields our graduates have entered include: • Community and hospital settings in the NHS • Private and third sectors, caring for older people, children and adolescents • Substance misuse, acute care and forensic settings

There are also opportunities for further study on our Masters and PhD programmes. Careers in research and education are also possible.

BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing

This degree adopts a strengths-based pedagogy, meaning we encourage you to work on your unique strengths, ambitions and learning needs. The knowledge you’ll be gaining in relation to care-giving practices, health and wellbeing is complemented by input from the disciplines of counselling and psychology.

Please note: the degree runs over the whole year, so although you will get holidays, they will be shorter than for a standard university degree.
