Page 1

Academic Staff Storyboard Currently: Dealing with students with a mix of technical abilities. Unable to easily tell when students start to become disengaged. Unable to tailor teaching to specific learner styles. Not using the most up to date technology in teaching, meaning unable to provide the same interactive and engaging experiences of other organisations.

2021/22

Increased amount of engagement data in learner analytics, including use of physical environments, to determine disengaged students more quickly. BI data on student circumstances – e.g mature, direct entrants etc. for all courses, and student learning strengths available to allow different teaching strategies (once micro courses deliver the information). Remote proctoring fully available. Flexible teaching spaces which can adapt to my preferred teaching style. Improved video recording and editing and integration with MyLearningSpace. Workflows for programme module development/changes. More learning and assessment technologies with gamification, interactive experiences. Interface with SITS for setting up Assessment boards. Workflows for appeals and complaints.

2022/23

Online labs using VR. Wearable technology available. User-friendly, plug and play AV. Technology which automatically sets up a room for teaching. Learner engagement technologies allow me to more easily engage with students. They can engage with each other, and I don’t have to repeat the same information multiple times, uses AI to increase engagement, collaboration and in-depth exchange of knowledge. Learning engagement tools to make creating engaging content for the VLE easier
