Single log-on will make the University seem slicker. Personalised news feeds will mean students are kept up to date with the latest news on their interests. Online communities to help them make a wider range of friends. Wayfinding app will mean students are less stressed. A gaming wall on-site will encourage a sticky campus. Outdoor wi-fi and power. Every lesson accessible on-line or on-campus. AI for initial stages in student experience, will mean students less likely to disengage, and a digital friend will answer queries and provide them with prompts. Digital champions from student body. Attendance monitoring integrated with room booking and cards will be simpler. Interactive displays outside rooms showing bookings, timetable, messages, redirections. Timetable will link to on-line classes where available.
2022/23
BI platform accessing open data for every course, allows all students to understand this up and coming subject. I can see my digital art or other work on digital signage around the building. Transnational students have access to everything a Dundee student has. Hubs around Dundee for learning beyond the campus. Initial AR/VR pilots. Online onboarding programme that continues into freshers week. 24/7 access to assignment support and feedback. Integrated assistive technology. 24/7 access to campus. Student choice available in their own learning – teaching delivered different ways. Remote control labs.
2023/24
AI powered teaching and feedback. Digital assistant to provide access to learning resources and nudge with reminders. Carbon footprint personal monitoring. Facial recognition, contactless access. Machine Learning being used in teaching and abertay.ac.uk learning. Apps allow me to tailor my own physical environment to suit me.
