When you arrive
Our campus is in Dundee city centre and only a 10 minute walk from the bus and train stations. The limited on-street parking is for less than an hour and not suitable for Applicant Visit Day. Look for AA signage for car parking. Closest is West Bell Street car park, satnav DD1 1EX. Next closest is Bank Street carpark, satnav DD1 1RW.
First thing to do is check in. Make your way to the foyer of the Kydd Building.

Student Centre Visit Visit our Student Centre when you have a free moment. It’s the social hub of the campus and the perfect place to eat, relax and meet your new friends. You’re welcomed with a brief talk about the Criminology programme before a mini-lecture on the subject. These will include: 1) Offender profiling: Giving you the chance to view a mock crime scene and think about what can we can identify using psychological theory regarding offender behaviour. 2) Sports Psychology: This session will demonstrate the role that visualisation can play in sport. 3) Face facts: Learn about the human face and voice and how information projected by these two features may shape social interaction in humans. 4) We examine performance differences between your preferred and non-preferred hand, using speed and accuracy tests! We’ll then have an informal Q&A, with a chance to chat with some of our current students.

We’ll give you a short overview of the programme which will include “an average week in your first semester”. You’ll then work around three sessions to give you a flavour of current modules in our sports programmes. These will include: 1) Sports Development and Coaching – analyse videos of coaches in action OR look at a particular case study e.g. London 2012. 2) A classroom-based sport psychology task. 3) A lab-based physiology practical. 4) A lab- based biomechanics practical using 3D motion analysis. 5) Health & Physical Activity – a classroom-based fitness test in the Human Performance Lab. 6) Gym-based strength and conditioning practical. After the taster sessions, there’ll be an informal Q&A session including the chance to speak with some of our current students.
