Getting here

When you arrive

Our campus is in Dundee city centre and only a 10 minute walk from the bus and train stations. The limited on-street parking is for less than an hour and not suitable for Applicant Visit Day. Look for AA signage for car parking. Closest is West Bell Street car park, satnav DD1 1EX. Next closest is Bank Street carpark, satnav DD1 1RW.

First thing to do is check in. Make your way to the foyer of the Kydd Building.

Refreshments Refuel during the day at one of our locations on campus. Aroma Cafe (ground floor in the Student Centre, the big building directly opposite where you checked-in). Student Centre Visit

The hub of student life at the University. It’s where our students access extra online information for their courses, use PCs and borrow laptops as well as books. There’s a one-stop-shop for all your queries (Support Enquiry Zone), space for individual, group, quiet and social study and a café.

Visit our Student Centre when you have a free moment. It’s the social hub of the campus and the perfect place to eat, relax and meet your new friends. Basement: for the Common Room, free access PCs, games consoles and a projector for communal gaming and film screenings. Ground floor: for the Campus shop and Aroma café. First floor: for Bar One diner, pool tables, TVs playing music channels and a place to study.

We’ll start with a programme talk which covers our approach to commercially-situated teaching and an overview of the programme. You’re welcomed with a brief talk about the social science programme before a mini-lecture on the subject. This will be followed by a student Q&A session where you’ll be able to pick the brains of some current students!

This session will include an overview of our psychology programmes, followed by a series of interactive sessions including: Offender Profiling - using psychological theory regarding offender behaviour; Sports Psychology demonstrating the role of visualisation in sport; Face Facts learning about the human face and voice and how they may shape social interaction in humans; Lefties vs Righties examining performance differences between your preferred and non-preferred hand. This will be followed by a Q&A session, which will include some of our current students. This session will include an overview of studying Sport and Exercise at Abertay, thereafter followed by interactive sessions which will include: a Sports Development & Coaching practical session; a Sport Psychology session; A lab-based Physiology practical; A lab-based biomechanics practical using 3D motion analysis; Health & PA classroom based/fitness testing; Gym-based Strength & Conditioning practical. This will be followed by a Q&A session including speaking with some current students.

Our session will provide you with an overview of our Mental Health Nursing programme and we’ll deliver you various taster sessions on the kind of things you should expect as a practitioner. You’re also invited to join us for an informal Q&A with our staff and students.
