Applicant Storyboard Currently: Application and onboarding process is complicated. There seems like a lot of steps and I don’t know if I have done everything I need to. I contact the person who recruited me and they don’t know either. Don’t feel part of the University. Worried I don’t know anyone before I start. I am getting lots of emails from different bits of the organisation and its confusing and sometimes contradictory.
2021/22
Centralised recruitment system is the beginning of our student CRM journey. Every student has a record which feeds in from marketing and other systems to tell us if they have accommodation allocated, paid deposits, completed a CAS etc. We have a centralised view of the communications each student is receiving so we don’t overwhelm or confuse them. Communications are targeted based on circumstance. A chatbot integrates with the CRM to answer queries, and push information at the right time. An app allows them to connect with other students, both in their course, but also with other communities of interest (e.g other students with caring responsibilities) before they start

The ECR team know which events lead to the best engaged students, and target more of those events.
