Your learning space Home to the biggest Sony PlayStation lab in Europe Our games’ students have open access to 30 new PlayStation® Vita development kits, alongside their existing PlayStation® 3 and PlayStation® 4 development kits. Every programming student at Abertay learns how to use them as part of our partnership with PlayStation® First, Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe’s Academic Development Programme.
White Space White Space is your learning environment. It’s designed like a modern work place and students from across gaming disciplines can work side-by-side to foster collaboration and creativity. The industry standard software and hardware is constantly updated to the latest versions to keep up with innovation in the industry. There are specialist audio, motion capture and virtual reality spaces, amongst many others, as well as the largest Sony PlayStation Education Centre in the UK outside of Sony itself.

Our graduates Success story Liam Wong graduated with a BA Computer Arts from Abertay in 2010 and works at Ubisoft, Montreal. The studio is responsible for games like Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs, Child of Light and Rainbow Six. As a Graphic Design Director, Liam was picked for the new Forbes 30 under 30 list for his work at industry giant Ubisoft, where he directed the visual look of hit game Far Cry 4. “My brother went to Abertay and when I saw the Computer Arts course I knew it was the one for me. My experience at university was really positive. Undergraduates: Undergraduate students can apply for entry through UCAS (University and Colleges Admissions Services), www.ucas.com. Specific entry requirements vary depending on the course, so check our website. Postgraduates: Postgraduate students can apply directly at abertay. ac.uk. Typical requirements are a degree at least equivalent to a UK Upper Second Class Honours degree in any subject. Some awards require your undergraduate subject to be in a related subject.
