Alumni/Donator Storyboard Currently: No sense of identity as an Abertay alumni. No regular contact from the University. feel disconnected from the University unless they are a recent graduate. Alumni are not getting specific information of interest. Staff dealing with alumni have no idea of what their relationship was like with the university. When alumni choose to opt out of emails it takes time because it is a manual process. Put off donating as our giving platform is not easy. How we thank supporters or engage with them doesn’t reflect our tech focus and abilities

2021/22

The university has better information on graduates and their preferences. The University has better visibility of all the communications and engagement with alums so it feels better managed. Alumni can update their own contact details via an ‘online express’ form. All Alumni can begin to receive Communitay and we are gathering correct consents for different types of communications. This allows us to survey the alums and provide them with information in which they are interested. The alumni team have access to research information so they can track spend and KPIs of projects that have been funded through fundraising. VR/AR tours of areas of the campus, research being carried out, the student experience etc that can be sent to supporters or potential supporters to build relationships and improve asks. – Improved links between NXT and finance systems for recording of prizes and awards.

2022/23

The University now has oversight of entire student journey and can contact alumni with reference to sports clubs and societies, halls of residence, scholarships received, modules taken, honours projects, etc to help support student recruitment content creation strategy. Content is tailored to different segments and the success of these is measured. Differentiated journeys for different alumni age groups/interests so that we are using the correct platforms and language for different groups to engage them. Online events connecting national and international alumni. Alumni podcast sessions are in full swing to help share the professional careers stories to supplement written digital print alumni profiles.

2023/24

Donors can choose their fundraising appeal/area of interest in the university, see the impact your donations make and get feedback/hear from current students so you can see the impact of your gift. This ties into the support work above. virtual in memorial garden, where people can visit who have lost a loved one and have sent us a gift in memory of that person. Use sentiment analysis to determine who will become donors.
