PVC-FREE RESILIENT FLOORING FOR A SAFE AND HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT
A MORE SUSTAINABLE CHOICE
Kährs Upofloor Zero floors are a sustainable choice made from safe raw materials such as natural minerals, virgin clean thermoplastic polymers, recycled Enomer® granulates, and in the case NEW Zero & GREEN, bio-based polymers. The environment has been considered at every stage of development, and now the production is energized by 100% renewable energy, reducing the CO2 impact of Zero Sheet by 32%!
DESIGN AND COLOR
The extensive range of colors with subdued patterns make Zero flooring materials inspirational and easy to use in any interior design. Matching colors in all members of the Zero family (both Zero & GREEN and Zero Sheet) enable you to mix and match and create patterns and designs. You also have the possibility to create designs by laser-cutting all Zero products.
APPLICATION AREAS
With the unique properties of Enomer® (see page 5), Kährs Upofloor Zero is perfect for indoor spaces subject to heavy wear-and-tear and with specific needs regarding cleanliness and easy maintenance. The Zero family of products meets and exceeds safety and health requirements, making these floors especially fitting for Healthcare and Education facilities, where it is crucial that these specifications are met.
RESPONSIBLE DESIGN
From the initial investment cost to end-of-life, Kährs Upofloor Zero provides a low life-cycle cost, including the cost of installation, operation and maintenance. This is due to the fantastic properties of the Enomer® material and its durable, dense, easy-toclean surface requiring no polishing or dry buffing, thanks to the ionomer reinforced surface. Being PVCand phthalate-free, Kährs Upofloor Zero promotes clean and healthy indoor air, fulfilling all emission requirements made on flooring.
ENOMER® - THE UNIQUE FLOORING
MATERIAL
OF KÄHRS UPOFLOOR ZERO
Enomer® is an innovative flooring material developed by Kährs Upofloor. Made from natural minerals and pure polymers, the material provides excellent performance characteristics, without compromising the environment or human beings.
A SAFE CHOICE THAT PROVIDES CLEAN INDOOR AIR
Made from natural minerals and pure polymers, Enomer® has a mineral-based construction of calcium carbonate (i.e., chalk) and thermoplastic polymers (of which 40% are bio-based in Zero & GREEN), plus an ionomer reinforced surface treatment. This unique combination of ingredients provides properties not found in any other flooring material.
FRIENDLIER TO THE ENVIRONMENT WITH A LOW COST OF MAINTENANCE
• Easy to clean - does not require polishing or dry buffing
• Dirt does not penetrate the surface due to its denseness and oil-free structure A high resistance to scratching and dirt
• Superior resistance to staining
• Resistance to bacteria and fungi growth
• Low requirement of water and chemical consumption during utilization of floor Extremely durable due to the ionomer reinforced surface
• As Enomer® production-waste is recyclable, all Zero-products* made of Enomer® include recycled Enomer® material (*Zero Sheet and Zero & GREEN)
PROMOTES A SAFE AND HEALTHY INDOOR ENVIRONMENT
• Easy to install
• Safe to walk on with good slip-resistance
• Antistatic
• Does not react with rubber
• No PVC or plasticizers
• No chlorine, phthalates, halogens, or heavy metals
• Excellent chemical resistance
• In case of fire, Zero does not generate dangerous combustion gases such as hydrogen chloride or hydrogen cyanide

LRV VALUES
To show compliance and understanding of various building regulations within hospitals, schools and the commercial environment, one can use LRVs, or Light Reflectance Values. This value represents a relative light and dark value rather than an actual color.
LRV measures the percentage of light a color reflects, forming a universal value for contrast expressed on a scale of 1 - 100, with 1 equaling absolute black and 100 equaling absolute white. In other words, a color’s Light Reflectance Value (LRV) measures the amount of visible and usable light that reflects from (or absorbs into) a surface. The higher the value obtained, the greater the amount of light that is being reflected.
The typical optimal choice for everyday design considerations are LRVs between 9 and 75. The European Equality Act 2010 requires a 30 point difference between floors and walls to assist in the safety of people with disabilities.
