AIESEC is the international platform for young people to discover and develop their potential to have a positive impact in society.

AIESEC has an incredible presence in over 1100 universities in 105 countries, providing our members and other students with international and cultural exposure.

AIESEC attracts and cultivates youth with global mindsets and connects them to each other and organizations in the corporate, development and student sectors.

We are non-political, non-profit, independent and entirely youth-run. Our membership is drawn from every race, colour, sex, creed, religion, and national and ethnic origin. We make the most of diversity- celebrating it, embracing it, creating synergy.

AIESEC, being youth-driven, does things with complete passion, energy and commitment. AIESEC develops the youth by providing a series of learning experiences. Our platform consists of over 4,000 exchanges, 450 conferences, and nearly 5000 leadership opportunities every year.

Each year since 1948, we have worked to fulfil our mission of developing young people to be individuals able to meet the challenges of the world.

In India we were established in 1981. We work with several prominent corporations such as Infosys Technologies, the Tata Group, Hindustan Lever Limited and Citibank.

We at AIESEC provide the youth with a platform to discover and develop their potential, in order to have a positive impact on society. This platform includes exchange, leadership opportunities, Conferences, and learning networks. AIESEC provides an integrated development experience which includes several forms of learning such as team experiences, mentorship, personal reflection, seminars and conferences, apart from other ways in which we can grow our own leadership and connect to a diverse array of partners. We also integrate management and leadership roles within the organization with international internships, which is the key service that our organisation provides to organisations working in the Development Sector across the world. + Internal Screening: Each AIESEC office pre-screens candidates through a review board consisting of interviews and tests. + Profile Identification: You determine the desired candidate, profile and job description for your intern to AIESEC Chennai + Intern Selection: AIESEC Chennai provides a short list of suitable candidates and aids the selection process by arranging a telephone or online interviews. Pre-Arrival / Visa Services: AIESEC supports the intern with cultural preparation and goal setting exercises. AIESEC arranges the visa for the intern. Post-Arrival Services: AIESEC arranges logistical services, such as accommodation, pickup and relocation of the intern. Integration Services: AIESEC provides ongoing activities for the intern and connects them to a network of other AIESEC members Evaluation: AIESEC facilitates an evaluation process for both the organisation and the intern throughout the internship to ensure objectives and expectations from all sides are being met.

AIESEC provides additional services that include: • Facilities the trainee's visa formalities, etc. • Arranges for the accommodation. • Prepares the trainee for the internship through its reception packages and expectations forms. • Receives the trainee and integrates him/her into the Indian culture and the job environment with the assistance of the company. • Liaisons with the organisation to evaluate the traineeship throughout the period of the traineeship.

• Administration fee – Rs.1000/- per trainee payable when the traineeship job questionnaire is filled up. This amount is fully refundable if AIESEC is not able to find you suitable trainees for your company. • Stipend: It is preferred that the organisation may support the intern in terms of food, accommodation or a flexible stipend in order to increase the chance of assuring a quality intern. Otherwise a minimum stipend of Rs.5000 rupees for every month.

Q. What is the traineeship duration & who decides it? A. The traineeship duration required by the organisation is given initially & we find candidates who are interested in a traineeship of the given duration. Q. Can the trainee work onsite in his home country? A. The trainee can work in his home country before or after the traineeship, but he will have to be reimbursed according to the minimum stipend in that particular country to meet his expenses or has to be reimbursed accordingly. Q. How long does it take AIESEC to fulfil our requirements? A. We will take anywhere between 2 weeks to 2 months to deliver to you depending on your requirements because our supply is higher from European Countries & we will able to deliver European requirements faster. Q. How can we be assured about the credibility of the candidate? A. Its not just any random candidate who comes to work in your company. He is thoroughly screened by the home country & his skills & knowledge levels are ascertained before the candidate can go for an AIESEC Internship. Each candidate goes through a psychometric test before he joins the Global Internship Programme. Q. What kind of liability/formalities do we have to take towards the trainee? A. We take care of all formalities including Visa processing, accommodation, Reception and integration. The company has to just give a quality job with job role content which provides for learning for the candidate & at the same time adds value to the company. The trainee himself bears the flight expenses. Q. Why would a foreigner want to come to India for stipend of just Rs.3000? A. A candidate from across our network of 105 countries come here to learn about a new culture, to get a professional work experience in an International Environment with different working styles & the stipend is just for their sustenance here. Q. How does AIESEC manage to provide such a service at a cost effective price?


A. AIESEC is registered as an NGO & all its members are volunteers & do not get monetary benefits. The administration fee & service charge paid by our clients go towards out sustenance (Office expenses, reception activities, documentation, etc.)

AIESEC Experience The following diagram shows the different steps in being an AIESEC member. All members go through a formal introduction to the organization and then begin to take on responsibility in some area. They then have the option to take on leadership, work abroad, or both. The final step is to head to the future - to take the skills, inspiration, and networks from AIESEC to have a positive impact in society. This flow and the opportunities within it were built on the following principles.

Taking an Active Role AIESEC will provide the opportunities and some support, but it is ultimately up to the individual to make the most of those opportunities. Each individual must take responsibility for his/her experience within AIESEC. Each individual must also take responsibility for the organization. It is through the collective efforts and commitments of everyone involved in AIESEC that we are able to


provide so many opportunities - some 350 conferences, 3500 work abroad opportunities, and 5000 leadership positions, among other activities.

Developing Self-Awareness and Personal Vision We think young people need more space and support to answer fundamental questions such as “What is important to me?” and “How do I want to contribute to the world?”. AIESEC supports young people in clarifying and expanding their ambitions through mentorship, personal vision exercises, an inspiring environment, and providing intense experiences that challenge their view of the world and their role within it. Increasing Your Capacity Through conferences, work abroad opportunities, and the management of our offices, we provide young people with the opportunity to increase theoretical knowledge in a wide-range of functional and soft skills and the opportunity to put it into practice. Building a Network People need a network of support that can guide and encourage them towards their vision and goals. Through conferences, learning networks, innovative on-line platforms, and a growing alumni network, AIESEC provides young people with the opportunity to create a strong and global network to support them in their personal and professional pursuits. Challenging Worldview Through intense experiences such as conferences, working abroad, and engaging in diverse environments, AIESEC “shakes up” the way young people see the world. A stronger and more holistic view of the world enables them to more easily incorporate new perspectives, see interdependencies, and identify ways to positively impact any given situation. In short, we are providing young people with experiences that will not only develop their potential as individuals but also help to best direct with a clear purpose of having a positive impact on society.
