FORM The geometry of the project bases on two tilted elongated building masses flapping over each other. These connected masses are geometrically analogic to each other but with their materials, functions and details they form opposites to each other. One earthy perforated Corten steel mass literarly rises from the ground as metro lifts which it enfolds. Besides metro it runs a lot of simple need based functions inside of it (grocery, restaurants, bath, laundry). It attaches to the water, brings people and activities closer to the sea and enriches the boulevard next to it. The other with its lighter visual appearance leans on the top of it and stretches over the road and towards the water with more complex functions and architecture. Colorful boxes push through its glass curtain wall like containers getting wild in a ship. Vertical steel cylinders sustain part of the weight of the building as well as they take care of the natural ventilation and vertical movement inside the building. Despite of its partly floating appearance modular glass building attaches strongly to the urban pedestrian way and its prefabricated blocks form interesting and human scale streetscape.

STEEL Steel is on its best, ecological, most beautiful when it appears in - lightweight structures, high spans - devices whose parts are renewable and recyclable - prefabricated products, which are installed in place literally as they are planned - closed monitored processes of steel reduce errors in the product and therefore in the building process

CONSTRUCTION CHALLENGES - How to build large-scale projects with high quality and costeffectiveness? - How to implement and control a community project, in which the ownership of the premises and user relationships vary? c - How to get users participate into expensive and heavy construcb tion and design process? - How to make building last time physically and functionally? PLAN > solve everything in one complex! > make an open lightweight modular steel frame and versatile modular facade > prepare infra which is easy to maintain and qualified common space on the core of the building > design space and building elements attractive products to place II on the facade zone VI > rent and sell modules and plots inside the the building >let the users and investors take care of the rest > allow the building live and see how it produces good

COMMUNITY One needed space for events. One needed a place to organize a weekend workshop mean while one needed a place to put his/her drawing or reception table but cannot afford renting 45sqm of extra space, which is quite the smallest option in conservative building markets. One also could have need for entrepreneur services to gain more visibility or safety but cannot afford nor find it because of renting 45sqm of empty space alone in the outskirts of city. With shared spaces the needed investment is less and the collaborators and customers are near.

CONTEMPORARY Space is limited, why do we treat buildings as monuments? When it is something is erected/built the space is dedicated for one thing and for one thing only, despite of the fact that at least 1/3 or even 50% of the time the built space is without use. All that time the enfolded structure is ventilated, heated, lit and wached over but it’s running empty. Does this make any sense? Buildings take about 40% of all the used energy. If we used built space more socially, more effieciently, we would need 1/3 less off new constructions and that would also mean 1/3 savings in energy consumption.
