Sketch B O O K Jehsel Lau
Design has always been part of my life.
Welcome to my Sketch Book. Here are some of my favorite drawings since 2008 as a diary, to see how far I can get just with my pen and my imagination.

Yes!, Ladies and gentlemen, Look at this!, Because that's how it all began!. 2006
Quick Sketches! ... After a great experience in the ELLE Mexico Dise単a, I intended to define my own style in my fashion sketches, with the challenge to complete each of them in just 5 minutes... I'm happy with the results. 2013
Project in progress! Results coming soon... 2013
Tired of asking for favors to graphic designers, I said to myself: enough! I will do it by myself!... I took courage and spent all my summer holidays in Mexico City, attending courses of graphic design… and I loved it! This amazing Ferrari was created with Adobe Illustrator… I´m not sure if I would recommend it, because you really need a lot of patience to work with all those layers! 2007
This was the last project I made at the University of Arizona, Unfortunately I was not present the following semester in order to be at the premiere of the play. 2009
Livia
The Scarlet Pimpernel, I feel nostalgic about it! It was my first project at the University of Arizona. I had just started the graduate program and, while other students had Fine Arts backgrounds, I was coming from a completely different world: my Bachelor degree was in International Business. At that time I did not speak English perfectly and my professor was the director of the department, ¨Doctor Tucci¨!, who made me cry several times! ... But whom I infinitely owe to. He trusted me and encouraged not to rest until I´d achieve on paper what my mind is creating!
2008
This design was made while packing, before leaving Mexico: I just got married and we did not have the chance to go on honeymoon. It was important for me to finish this project in order to apply for a scholarship for a master program in Italy. I still remember how much hope I put on it at that time! 2009 - The Turn of the Screw
A project developed under the supervision of Professor Pier Luigi Pizzi. Just arrived in Verona, I did not speak Italian very well at that time. 2010
No doubt this illustration represents one of the most difficult periods of my life. It was made in photoshop for the opera La Boheme, a project that remained only on paper. After finishing it, I decided to quit the master program in Verona and to go my way alone. I thought that was the right time to test myself, in a project that I had in mind for many years. I really love this sketch, I still remember the dedication I put on it. It was my first vacation in Southern Italy, everyone was on the beach and‌ I was at home WORKING! I remember very well that after sending the proposal, the director called me to say that she had decided to change the historic period in which the play was set! OMG 2010
Finally Sour Angelica was presented in the XV Festival Amazonas de Opera in Manaus. After a few months a friend of mine called me: she just found my costume in a Magazine. What a wonderful sensation! 2011
