The Azores islands are a Portuguese archipelago in the North Atlantic Ocean, located about 1,500 km (930 mi) from Lisbon and about 3,900 km (2,400 mi) from the east coast of North America. The Monchique islet on Flores Island, located at 31째 16' 24" W is regarded as the westernmost point in Europe, even though from a geological standpoint the two westernmost Azorean islands (Flores and Corvo) actually lie on the North American plate. Nowadays Azores main industries are tourism, cattle raising for milk and meat, and fishing.

Sﾃグ MIGUEL, AZORES S. Miguel (Sﾃ｣o Miguel), known as "The Green Island", is the largest and most populated island of the Azores. S. Miguel Island has a surface area of approximately 293 square miles and has around 150,000 inhabitants, 50,000 of them located in Ponta Delgada, the largest city in the archipelago. S. Miguel's diverse scenery is a pleasant awakening to visitors, with beautiful lakes, sandy beaches, rolling hills, high mountains, green plains and blue ocean. Activities in S. Miguel include whale watching, swimming with dolphins, walking and trekking, diving, fishing, jeep safaris, bird watching, sailing, snorkeling, swimming, golf and many other outdoor and indoor activities.

DAY 1 | PONTA DELGADA | Sﾃグ MIGUEL

Ponta Delgada offers the visitor a blend of contemporary life with historic flavor. Monuments, turn of the century architecture, parks and cobble stone streets are interlaced with a modern marina, nice restaurants, shopping, bars, night-clubs, and ocean-front cafes. DAY 2 | FURNAS TOUR (FULL DAY) Tour begins towards Vila Franca do Campo. Quick stop for tasting of the famous Queijadas da Vila, followed by a tour of Furnas with a stop at Parque Terra Nostra , for a visit of the fascinating botanic garden, known worldwide. Tour continues to Lagoa das Furnas, where you will watch the preparation of Cozido das Furnas, named after the village, which will also be the lunch for that day (included). After lunch, the tour continues to Miradouro do Ferro, tea factory Gorreana and Miradouro StÂŞ Iria. Return to Ponta Delgada Accommodation in Ponta Delgada Lunch included Dinner at your own expense

DAY 3 | RIBEIRA GRANDE AND LAGOA DO FOGO TOUR (FULL DAY) The Tour begins with a visit to the town of Lagoa, stopping at Factory Cerâmica Vieira, unique in the Azores, where pottery and ceramic is made, drive to Pico da Barrosa where you can see Lagoa do Fogo from above (one of Potugal’s 7 Wonders – Beach Category). Going down through the North Coast and stopping at the natural monument of Caldeira Velha to observing its endemic fauna. Lunch at local restaurant. Walking tour of the most interesting points of the town of Ribeira Grande, with Liquor Tasting. Accommodation in Ponta Delgada Lunch included Dinner at your own expense
