James, newly married and Albert, a 15 year employee work in a steel mill in Youngstown, Ohio. Both have followed their fathers and grandfathers into the hot ovens of steelmaking. One morning, the two men and others are informed that the steel mills are closing permanently. Six years later, the two men run into each other and update one another on their life journeys.
