Op 17 maart presenteert Labo S (UGent) in deSingel het boek ‘Labo S Works 2004-2014. A landscape perspective on urbanism’. Het voorbije decennium opereerde Labo S in de marges van het (stedelijk) landschap door zich te richten op plekken en dynamieken die zich grotendeels onder de radar van zowel de media als de academische wereld bevinden. Met een landschappelijke blik als raamwerk voor stedenbouw tracht Labo S een antwoord te formuleren op de quasi onmogelijke opdracht om deze stedelijke realiteit te begrijpen, te begeesteren en te veranderen. Naast een post-rationalisatie van het gevoerde onderzoek, wil dit boek de grenzen van het eigen werk overstijgen en een reflectie bieden over de rol die landschap als beeld en als ontwerpinstrument kan spelen in het verkennen en begrijpen van de hedendaagse stedelijke conditie. De boekvoorstelling gaat gepaard met de opening van ‘Re: Collecting Landscapes’, een tentoonstelling die onderdeel is van een langlopend onderzoek door Labo S naar de transformatie van het Vlaamse landschap en verder bouwt op de expo ‘Recollecting Landscapes’, getoond in het Gentse SMAK in 2006. Het boek ‘Labo S Works 2004-2014’ wordt voorgesteld door Pieter Uyttenhove (UGent Labo S) en Koos Bosma (VU Amsterdam).
