A message from Principal Dr. Walcott Happy Fall Titan Family, I hope all is going well and that you and your student are off to a great start to the school year and take a moment to share with you some of the wonderful things we have going on at The Gate. As you know, your child’s attendance is extremely important. Studies have shown that the better a student’s attendance is the better the student performs in all academic areas. So, please ensure your student is on time and at school every day. With that being said, your daily Principal average attendance has been 96% or better so thank you. Dr. Tobin Walcott We have several teachers who recently received grants from Champions for Learning. I would like to recognize Mrs. Luciano, Ms. Fish, Mrs. Bailey, Mrs. Perez and Mrs. Vega who all received grants to provide your child with amazing classroom experiences and activities that will be supported through the grant opportunity. Well done teachers and thank you for all you do! We are in the process of introducing a new mobile app at The Gate. The app is called School Info App, it will take the place of our student agendas, and contain many other helpful functions: school calendar of events, GGHS website, students’ calendar to log in important dates and assignments, district information etc. Please be sure to check with your child as to the launch date for our GGHS app. There is no cost to you or your student to utilize the app. I want to give a big shout out to our Marching Band who received Straight Superiors at MPA and to our Debate Team who is off to a great start earning 2nd place at their last competition. I want to wish everyone a successful 2nd quarter and happy holiday season that is fast approaching. We would like to invite you to support our students by attending some of the many exciting events we have going on at school: winter sports, Holiday Hoopfest (December 27- 30) and the STEAM Expo (February 1).
